Louisdog
Noooo that really sucks, I hope they give you some money back or some other gesture of goodwill. How can they confuse the two?! Grr

Guest
You must be so annoyed and disappointed. In my experience Lakeland's customer service is very good. I hope your Roomba is on its way to you to arrive tomorrow!
Cinnamon
Lakeland have really annoyed & suprised me with their attitude to this. First they said they cannot get a 'replacement' Roomba out to me until next week. Told them that was not on, as I had paid for overnight express delivery,so a its coming tomorrow. The woman I dealt with kept waiting for me to thank her as 'we have really pulled out all the stops to get this too you. Its above & beyond what we would normally do'. I told her that I would have expected the right item to begin with & I most certainly expect my delivery fee to be refunded They are also insisting I am in all day to sign for it,even though on my original order they said it could be left in my porch. It even says that on the box. Told them I will be in & out & if they were happy for it to be left in the porch the first time, then they should be this time. AND they also want me to wait in all day on Monday next week for the Hostess trolley to be picked up.Fat chance of that!
chocchick
That's shocking Cinnamon I would expect a) the right item or b) next day for correct item as originally agreed and c) how can they expect you wait around for the first delivery you didn't want! Egluntyne
I would write a strongly worded letter of complant to the boss.....they do pride themselves on being a family firm. Anyone *googling* Roomba might just pick up this thread, and it won't do Lakeland any good at all. I must say I am very surprised at their attitude. Maybe it was just a rude employee. superjules
Oh No!! Difficult to imagine how anyone could confuse a hostess trolley with a Roomba! Sounds like the kind of substitutions I used to get in my Tesco home grocery shopping.
Shirl
I'd love one of these but would it cope with slate that is very natural i.e it has large ridges in it! We have it in the family room which is the most used room of the house so if it doesn't work there it wouldn't be worth having. Also there are several different versions around which is the one that most people have got. There's a large difference in price so obviously want to get the best value one. If the 50 just offers better scheduling then I wouldn't bother with it but if it's better cleaning then in our house it's probably worth it. Egluntyne
I've got the 560 and a stone tiled floor in the kitchen, which it copes with very well.

Egluntyne
Clever innit! Mine has just done the first floor for me, bless it. I never cease to be amazed at how much muck it shifts.
buffie
yes you can see a huge difference, I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen this thread We have it scheduled to start at 7am downstairs and then I take it upstairs, and by the time I've walked Daisie we're all clean More time to do other things forum too BBx
Cinnamon
TBH,looking at the instructions, I am wondering whether I should have gone for the higher spec model Reckon I will see how I get on with this & I can always upgrade at a later date - I am sure I could pass this on to someone if I need to................ The Dogmother
It sounds brilliant fun too. I want to borrow one just for the laugh. I only have one carpet left in the house - it's a manky brown thing on the stairs and landing, which I have left down to protect the floorboards underneath while I have work done upstairs. I hate it with a vengeance, and spray it with a mixture of water, tea tree oil and lavender oil to freshen it up.
Egluntyne
More time to do other things forum too Ditto! I have mine running in the hall, study telly room and kitchen in the late evening. It is so cheering to come down to a clean house in the morning, whereas I wouldn't have the energy or the inclination to do it in the evening with the Dyson. If only they did a mini one, crossed with a slinky, for the stairs!
Laura & CTB
I got mine cleaning the bedrooms and landing yesterday when I got home from work - had to stand and watch it as I couldnt quite believe it wasnt going to launch itself down the stairs! Now I'll trust it to do its own thing
buffie
More time to do other things forum too If only they did a mini one, crossed with a slinky, for the stairs! We've given Mikey's mum our Dyson and we've got a hand held dyson, it does all we need it to, chairs and stairs etc and we have a spare in the shed. I really have freed up loads of time and feel so much better working in a cleaner house and office BBX
Cinnamon
If this works out I may trade in my lovely Sebo for a decent hand held vac for the stairs. I don't suppose anyone can recommend one.......Egluntine maybe?
Egluntyne
I still use the Dyson and all its tranklements for the stairs......so sorry, no, I haven't got a recommendation. Yet.
Paola
Only just found this thread I use our vacuum cleaner every day downstairs on our laminate floors. Prior to this one which is some German thing (which currently has an intermittent fault and stops working when it feels like it), I killed two Dysons I found they did loose suction and just were not up to the job I do like the sound of one of theses Do they stand up to the job of being used everyday? I love the sound of being able to leave it to do its job while out

Cinnamon
I am impressed with my Scuttle He has done all downstairs apart from the living room & is currently working on my bedroom. A very good job has been done all round,on carpet, oak & tile The eldest daughter however is very unhappy - I used to pay her in i-tunes downloads to hoover upstairs, & she loves hoovering I have worked out that Scuttle will pay for himself in 30 weeks with these savings alone The cat is equally unimpressed & is sulking at the moment, having flown off of my bed in terror
Louisdog
Glad you are happy with Scuttle! My cats have gone from disappearing as soon as the hoover starts, to casually sleeping on our bed while he hoovers around the room, under the bed etc. Our dog doesn't move now, just waits to get bumped!
