feemcg
I just check them each morning - if there's poo in there, I lift it out with my trusty paint s"Ooops, word censored!"er. I top up the straw about once a week as it seems to disappear
jomaxsmith
I use aubiose in the nest box and that dries out and clumps together any poo so I just flick it out by hand in the morning I use newspaper on the eglu floor and hemcore in the poo 'hot spot' and I change that every 2-3 days or so. Carol U
I take the poo out of the nest box every morning, top up the straw and empty the poo tray. I scrub the whole lot out properly once a week.

Olly
Gone back to putting a flowerpot in the nest-box, so I don't have to clean poo! I hate poo-ey eggs, and it sticks to the nestbox in a horrid sludgy lump and has to be s"Ooops, word censored!"ed off ... it's worth the late-night trip up the garden to take it out again so they can lay in the morning. Tiggy
how does a flower pot help prevent pooey eggs?
Egluntyne
You cover the nest box with it over night to prevent them sleeping (and pooing) in it. Trouble is you have to be up betimes in the morning to shift it so that they can lay!
chickencam
One of mine usually lays in the early hours, so I can't cover the nest box, it is a bit annoying because it is Dippy who lays the white eggs and they do get a bit grubby sometimes. I scoop any poo out in the morning with a litter tray scoop and change the tray which is lined with newpaper about twice a week
MedusA
poop out of the nest box every morning so we don't have poopy eggs litter tray twice a week That's my regime too! I also thoroughly clean the eglu at least once every 7-10 days (depends on the weather).
Ash
I clean 'poo corner' everyday, but to be honest they are not that bad and have one proper clean out (Fresh bedding) every saturday.
Olly
One of mine usually lays in the early hours, so I can't cover the nest box, That's what I thought, but if you put the flowerpot in before they go to bed, you can then remove it once they are asleep. Provided you whisk it out quickly and don't wake them up too much, they won't move back into the nest box. Christian told me this! Mine lay well before I get up, so this is the only way I could do it. It does mean a trip up the garden in the dark each evening, a couple of times I've forgotten but they usually manage to lay in the nesting box anyway! (It's a plastic flowerpot so they push it out of the way).
