BarbaraJ
Meet: Amber Ruby on the right And Ebony What fun I've never been up so early on a Sunday morning lol I had trouble getting them to come out of the coop though, i got Ebony out and she started making a loud noise i think because she wondered where the others were. Shhhing frantically though i knew she wasn't that loud compared to the rest of the birds ,so had to get them out of the coop, a few seconds of noist sqwarking they were eating and drinking pheww lol

NClaire
Beautiful chickens. Is Ebony really a Bovan Nera? She looks really different to the ones I've seen which have been much more black with ginger breasts!
NClaire
This is the sort of Bovan Nera I've seen before http://www.southmead.dsl.pipex.com/Breeds1.htm (scroll down). Ebony is lovely though!
Snowy
Well spotted, no she is not a bovans nera! If you scroll further down there is a pic of a speckledy, and on this page scroll down to see a speckled star: http://www.cotswoldchickens.com/breeds.htm or the pied suffolk further down this page: http://www.glencroftpoultry.co.uk/hen_house.htm
NClaire
Yes I thought she looked more like a speckeldy on first sight, but your pied suffolk picture is more like it - my speckeldy has much more white! This is my Speckeldy (sorry haven't worked out how to put pics in posts!) http://bp1.blogger.com/_YHIsU9-FBLs/RzyB0cU-hkI/AAAAAAAAAC8/3x3GPFs56vU/s1600-h/novselina.JPG
Snowy
Sorry Barbara - we've hijacked your thread! Your girls are gorgeous but I think the black one is a pied suffolk! My friend bought one at the weekend and she looks just the same
