clucky1
It is my birthday today (no I am not going to tell you how old I am) and everything feels well a bit flat and I am feeling a bit fed up It started off ok this morning. We set off for a Rose nursery to get my birthday present. My two daughters were going to buy me roses for a new rose-bed. Great idea ! We left and a half-hour journey turned into an hour and a half and we NEVER got there. We had planned to eat lunch there. Due to the solid traffic we ended up stopping at a 'little chef' . After 40mins of waiting at our table - knowone had even been to take our order we left (kids and Oh were hungry) We then went back into the traffic and ended up at a burger king (which I hate) We never made it to the rose place. we went home. It is now pelting with rain - my daughters are fighting. My dog has just rolled in chicken poo and I am now eating my way through some birthday chocolate - knowing that I shouldn't Can someone bring a smile to my face - please
BeckyBoo
Ahem, Ahem. I shall now sing you the birthday song that was sung to my eldest by her classmates at her birthday in February..... (all together now!) Happy Birthday to you, Stick you head down the loo, Don't waste it, Just taste it, But don't eat the poo! Ta Da!! I'm sorry you're having such a rotten day, it's so disappointing when something like that happens. Forget the birthday chocolate, head for the birthday champagne. Hope your evening picks up. Olly
oh no! Just write off what's happened so far, and start again. Chocolate definitely sounds good. You know what - it's a long weekend, why not have your birthday tomorrow instead! Same plans, but on another day!
chickenlass
Oh heck...hope things pick up this evening. Are you going out for a meal or anything?? [silly question really as I'm sure you won't want to face the traffic again...not twice in one day] BIRTHDAY anyway!!!
clucky1
We will be staying in this evening (probably for the best) have a waitrose indian buffet and a good bottle of red. SOooo all is not lost. Will have to get the kids off to bed early Thankyou for your 'smile inducing' comments - I particularly liked the 'Happy Birthday' song ! Rona
Once you get to a certain age, if your birthday is not all it should be, then you get to deduct 2 years off your age instead of gaining one - just make sure you still get your roses and chocloate and champagne and anything else thats going! freddie
Roses would'nt have liked being disturbed today, and they'll still be there tomorrow.Narrow escape at the Little Chef!!, Lovely meal with miminal washing up to come...... Dogs; well at least it covers the wet dog smell, that "perfum de Hen"" is all the rage at the kennels...(Why did the dog just dive under the table??!) HAPPY BIRTHDAY I'd love to do the clever pattern bit but cant!! And you'll never be as old as me either!!

Snowy
Happy Birthday Clucky1! Good advice from everyone else, so nothing else to add, just enjoy the rest of your day (the Rose place would have been a nightmare anyway - the world and his wife would have been there today, and the prices would have been hiked because it's easter ), enjoy the food and wine and company and plan a day out again when the weather is better. hilda-and-evadne
It is my birthday today (no I am not going to tell you how old I am) and everything feels well a bit flat and I am feeling a bit fed up ... Can someone bring a smile to my face - please Some years, I've had birthdays that went on all week as if I were an Eastern princess or something. I think that this is one of those birthdays for you. So-o-o-o, what are you doing for your birthday tomorrow, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and next Thursday? Do you need any suggestions? little chickadee
Oh dear, I've had birthdays like that - My birthday is next month and I've said that I don't want any presents, just for my children to be nice all day These birthdays might make you laugh At my 18th, I was taken to a darts match I feigned a headache and left very early. one other birthday I had a lovely massage and then went off to dinner with my best friend, little knowing that she had booked in for me to go jet skiing in a very cold lake (after I had consumed a large meal and a couple of G&T's ) I am very unco-ordinated and rubbish at such things and just couldn't get the hang of it at all. Went home bruised, sore and feeling sick Clucky1 - I really hope you have a nice evening. Just forget about the rest of your day and try and enjoy your husband's birthday instead

riane
Sorry to hear you have had a pants day. But it does give a brilliant excuse to keep doing nice things..."well you know what a disaster my birthday was so I thought we could ....eat here, shop there, go away etc" enjoy
Laura & CTB
I would have a 2nd birthday, if the Queen can.........so can you I always have two birthdays now - my official one in February and my unofficial one in July ( I choose a day when the weather's nice), the first one hasn't gone to plan for a few years now - like this year CTB bought me a champagne balloon flight for two - except it turned out to be for one and cost so much money I made him get a refund (never did get anything else though ). So Clucky1 announce the date and look forward to birthday number two
