Richard Posted April 4, 2008 Share Posted April 4, 2008 OK then. whats the maximum number of hens you can get laying in an Omlet nestbox at one time eh? Normally my Orps are pretty protective and won't share the nestbox with any other hen, other than an Orp of course. However I went down a couple of days ago and there were four of my girls in there laying at the same time. Two Orps, one Marans and one North Holland. And you can see there's a Buff Sussex waiting for a free space as well! Now then, these are quite large ladies (I'm being tactfull here you realise), They are really pretty buxom wenches. So to get four women in the bed together, apart from being possibly a bit of a fantasy for a cockeral somewhere, is actually quite a squeeze and something that I haven't seen before.
