jomaxsmith
It is getting increasingly difficult to pull the locking bar out from the under my Mk II Eglu to release the roof. Does anyone know how and with what I could lubricate it? Thanks Jo

The Dogmother
Sorry to butt in, but be careful with WD40 as it's highly toxic (sorry Tessa). The black bar runs inside the eglu casing below the door, I can only think that something has got into the casing and is causing it to stick. May I suggest using either a pressure washer or a high pressure hose to blast through the slot and clear it. You can actually see the bar if you take the front off the Eglu base (it just unscrews) If you're still having problems then ring Omlet and ask the boys for some advice. Egluntyne
Sorry to butt in, but be careful with WD40 as it's highly toxic (sorry Tessa). Just what I was thinking. My door mechanism jammed once. Careful inspection show a bit of poultry grit stuck in the groove. A quick swish with water shifted it.
The Dogmother
My door mechanism (not that I use it often) usually has compacted Aubiose in it
Stevie
The simplest form of non toxic lubricant is that spray sunflower oil for cooking! Infact its so harmless,i often give my chooks pellets a couple of squirts and then add poultry spice cause then it sticks!
