Omletina Kyckling
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! I've been suggesting to absent hubby in Sweden for a while now that we need a cube and more girls and he's come out with lots of gems such as "Let's not run before we can walk"... Well, today, I popped over to see Kate and had a look at her set up (and had a splendid cup of coffee and slice of yummy cake)....when I got home I rang hubby and told him how marvellous her cube is and how it'd make life so much easier for me to clean out/get eggs etc. than the Eglu, due to my arthritis etc. etc.... Anyway, a short while ago, I got a text from him saying I could order one!! Hurrah! I have to wait until June for one, but I can have one. So thanks Kate!!...and thanks for your hospitality too! By the way, anybody want a lovely red eglu, come July?!!

I love my red Eglu so a red cube will be just the ticket. How am I going to wait until mid June though?

Sweden is on my list of places i'd like to go see, the design ideas they have there are amazing!!! I know - there seem to be quite long waits for cubes, but it works out quite well I suppose as I have a big birthday in July so I am having my cube and chickens for that. Sweden is lovely. I lived there for four years and hubby has been over there working for a further four and commuting for weekends each month. We keep contemplating moving there permanently but I can't come to terms with it - my cats hate to travel in the car to the vets never mind flying to Sweden, so that really puts me off, plus moving the chickens of course. - perhaps I could get them on an intensive flying course and give them a GPS and directions? The Dogmother
How am I going to wait until mid June though? You could always go and collect it from Omlet yourself......
Omletina Kyckling
How am I going to wait until mid June though? You could always go and collect it from Omlet yourself...... Ooh?!! Is that an option? Is the delay on deliveries rather than production? I could consider that, but doubt all the bits would fit into my short wheelbase Landy pick up! But you have definitely planted a seed...it's about 50 miles each way so would be about the same in diesel to drive there and back as to get it delivered!! It is an option, but you will need to ring them to check as they're not geared up for unexpected visitors. The cube comes mostly flatpacked, so it should fit, but check with them first. My understanding is that the delay is mostly due to scheduling of deliveries, especially as they can't fit as many cubes on the van as with eglus. Omletina Kyckling
They rang me this morning and it's coming on Monday 2nd June!! Omlet themselves are bringing it and will build it, which I'm pleased about as I was a bit worried about that. I'm pretty nifty with tools, but I'm not as strong as I was with my arthritis so it's better to have a big fella to do it for me!! I changed my mind between last night and this morning and plumped for a green cube with an extended run!! I've always said I'd go for red so this is such a turnaround. The girls have a large area at the bottom of the garden which they are out in all the time (expect at night of course) and I think a green one will just blend into the background rather nicely! I may change it again between now and June, but for now, I think green is best for me!
