Tidying up - hints and tips please!

Recommended Posts

Forget filing away paper etc. All you need is 1. Petrol 2. Metal bucket or similar 3. Matches.

Instructions:

Get all the unimportant bits of paper etc, put it in bucket, douse with petrol, stand well back and lob a (lit) match on it. Stand back and watch all those confidential documents be incinerated.

I do not accept any responsibly for injury caused by following these instructions.

I have to say, I've only managed to watch Anthea being a perfect housewife once and annoyingly I felt compelled to adopted one of her ideas...........I now put my duvet cover/pillowcase/sheet set inside one of the pillowcases so that you can just pull a complete set out of the airing cupboard rather than spending ages finding the matching pillowcase and sheets :D

Oh how I hate women who are perfect housewives  I once had the misfortune to watch Anthea showing us how to iron a shirt correctly. She did it completely opposite to the way my perfect housewife of a mother taught me, she ironed the collar first, I was taught to iron them last, so thumbs down to Anthea.

I like Fred's method of filing

Why bother to sort out the important stuff though? - set fire to it all and then wait to see who bothers to contact you again

Of course, it's quite likely to be the Inland Revenue telling you that you've been fined £100 :wink:

on the rare occasions I shine my kitchen sink  I can also watch the girls as the sink is under the kitchen window with the cube nicely framed by the window frame :lol::lol:

My eldest son belongs to the 'shove it all in a drawer unopened' school of

getting rid of paperwork  One day his g.friend went through it all and found an unopened envelope with a cheque in it for over £500 from his former employer refunding some pensions contributions  He now opens all his mail

I am like that - that is why I have so much stuff to sort out now.

Anyway my time off has fizzled out now so I won't be getting much more tidying up done.

On top of that. from a team of 4 plus 2 part-timers (one of those is me) we have had two resignations (from the full-timers) in the space of just over a week. So its nose to the grindstone again in a few weeks' time - just as it was starting to settle down after recruiting new people late last year.

With my part-time counterpart getting married in July and off on honeymoon I am going to be pretty busy. Hhmmphh

Oh and I iron shirts collar first, then sleeves. When I have to.

Now who was it that was looking for a job.....?
