dogs and chickens
I have made several promises of photo's and not come up with the goods! Mainly due to camera/computer problems, well I have got round to uploading them to photobucket at long last. So here goes on my girls photo's Enjoying our 'chook made' dust bath By the way this bit of ground that they are all trying hard to fit in is actually our bonfire area!!!! Look girls it's my turn.... All our egg's! someone asked me for a photo of these to see all the different colours, however the flash (which I don't seem able to turn off) has taken the colour out and made them all look lighter, so the green eggs don't look green - sorry! Cream Legbar - Minstral Speckledy - one of my Miss Pepperpot's Gingernut Ranger - I'm not laying yet!!!! Snowy - My white star which lays brown eggs with white speckles!!! Brown Leghorn - Naughty Another Miss Pepperpot, This is Henry, She looks very different to Speckledy, but very similar to my other Miss . Buffy (White star, which again lays brown eggs) and another of my Brown leghorns - Patch! My fav pic - Lady, one of my Lavender Araucan's I hope you enjoy these pics of my girls, I'm very sorry but I seem unable to get photo bucket to change the size of the photo's. If anyone knows how and can do it for me please do....? I was trying to get a pic of them all together, but they kept moving, they clearly do not understand about their picture being taken Michelle x

Mrs Frugal
I hope you enjoy these pics of my girls, I'm very sorry but I seem unable to get photo bucket to change the size of the photo's. If anyone knows how and can do it for me please do....? Hi Michelle, I've resized them all for you. Photobucket seems to be having an off day today as I couldn't get it to load anything this morning. If you have a camera programme which resizes them from the camera, that's far more reliable at the moment. Message board size is 640 x 480. You can then upload them at the correct size to Photobucket and not have to rely on it having a good day .
Roxanne
Wonderful photographs... chickens and the eggs! On Flikr you get a choice to reduce the size of the photograph - I don't know about photobucket - but I am sure someone else does!!

Who lays the white eggs (not quite worked out which breeds lay which colours yet) Having ex-batts I keep forgetting how many feathers free range chickens actually have!! EDIT: Oops just seen that you have the egg colours in your signature - sorry

Thanks so much for doing that I struggled for ages, then gave up , for some unknown reason it kept loading a game when I told it to resize - totally weird ! They do look so much better in 'proper size! M

That's OK Suzie, I would happily have gone through the egg colours from each hen, now I have no excuse ! Your ex-batts will soon have some extra feathers, I would be keen to take some photo's of before and after round to my neighbour who buys battery hen eggs ! When I offered him some of our eggs, he said he would not buy our's as they don't have enough room (15Mx30M). I did tell him a battery hen has the size of about an A4 sheet of paper and he told me that was a good joke . I was NOT laughing!!! TAJ
Lovely photos - how do you get photos of them dust bathing like that? As soon as they hear me outside or see me in a window they run thinking I have treats, so I have never managed to photograph them like that - even if I did three wouldn't look anywhere near as impressive as you wonderful selction of giels! Ms Tilywouldloveblueeggsbutstilllovemy6chooksalaying6lovelyeggs Hi Mrs T, Thanks for your kind words, I am very proud of all my girls! By the way Naughty is a brown leghorn and lays white eggs, well cream actually, although the breed should lay white eggs, which was why I saved her and her 3 friends from being killed, I don't mind if her eggs are not white. Although I do now have rather a lot of hens! Still Mr Fox nearly got away with solving that for me last night ! Michelle
Suzie
I read about your fox visit (and then heard a noise outside and promptly ran out to check for foxes). Hope your chickens are all safe this evening and your egg laying goes back to normal.

Tracy I go up and check for eggs about 20 times a day No joke it's true, my hubby will finish my sentence for me now as I will say 'I'm just going' and he will say 'to check for eggs!' and it's true I always am. So they don't expect me to always have treats. One of the Gingernut Rangers will always come running when she hears me, she flys over the hedge to get to me first, but the others will only look if I rattle the treat bowl, or call 'chook, chook, chook' or sit in the run. Or if it's about 7p.m when they know there scoop of corn is coming , well I guess that's love ! The others just carry on doing their thing! I did have to laugh out loud the other day, I went up there and peered over the hedge and all 15 were trying to fit in the dust bath! They were clucking and pecking left, right and in the dust! Hope your chickens are all safe this evening and your egg laying goes back to normal. Bless your chooks I hope they are all safe? I am now very worried, but the Omlet cube sure did it's job yesterday. Lots & lots of feathers, loads of paw marks, and bite marks. Lots of big holes in the shower curtain which is over the run, but no poorly or dead chickens ! Just very stressed out girlies this morning, telling me all about it! Hubby has been put on fox watch, he's up the garden with his gun! Sorry to any fox loves out there, but my chickens come first!
