Rolo Rabbit
I'm really cross with myself. When we built the chicken run there was no room to put the whirligig washing line back where it used to go. So we've been drying stuff on the radiators. But I thought today was such a lovely day that I would try putting the whirligig through the hole in the middle of our garden table. Which worked really well so I went out for an hour and came back to find the glass table completely smashed after the washing blew over. I can't believe I was so stupid not to realise that could happen. I loved that table especially as we got it at a bargain price last summer. Anyway, the neighbours must be well and truly convinced that I'm potty as I stood there hoovering the lawn. I was really worried about the chooks eating any or the rabbit and cat cutting their little paws. I'm pretty sure I got it all though. Guest
what bad luck, i'm so sorry, but the image of you hoovering the lawn had me in stitches. You should have got someone to take your photo
Popcorn
Oh no too!! Hindsight eh? Oh well, put it down to experience and be thankful there were no live casualties. Tables can be replaced. Hoovers too! Has it survived the lawn experience (sorry can't help but smile at that!!) I'm just watching our umbrella in the middle of our table nearly taking off in the gusts. Might go and take it down now......
Rolo Rabbit
I suppose it is quite funny in a sad kind of way. The hoover is full of glass and grass and probably a fair amount of chicken poo. I do hope that has survived. This is supposed to be our economy month.
Tessa the Duchess
Sorry about your table, laughed at you hoovering the lawn I put a large umbrella inside the chicken run to give the chooks some more shade, at one point a gust of wind lifted it up and deposited on the other side of the run, you should have heard the clucking and bok boking from the astonished chickens Tessa
Egluntyne
What a shame. I am sorry.
Guest
oh heck try asking on freecycle for a table for the garden and a hoover. If you relay the story, someone might take pity on you (in a nice way ) xxx
theherd123
Please tell me you didnt use a hoover that you normally do carpets with?! You used a garden hoover surely?

Rolo Rabbit
I'm afraid we don't have a garden hoover so, yes, it was the carpet hoover.
Rolo Rabbit
Good news!! I just emptied the hoover and tried it again and it's lived to hoover another day. One less thing to confess to hub about.
theherd123
One less thing to confess to hub about. Lets hope that hub doesnt find any blades of grass on the carpet then!
Guest
Sorry about the table. I got a really nice glass table that was offered on freecycle. Absolutely nothing wrong with it - they got a wooden one instead. It meant I could use our wooden one as firewood - despite being regularly oiled that was all it was fit for! redfrock
must be a day for it - the beautiful new pot that I only bought on Monday and had filled with Irises (to cheer me up while still on sick leave) got smashed today by the parasol & stand blowing over and knocking it over. It smashed into pieces and I really can't afford another one (that one was an extravagance). I really do empathaise .....
Keanie Bean
I couldnt help but have a giggle about the hoover , shame about the table though. Sarah.x
bronze
Could you get a piece of glass cut to fit the table?
Rolo Rabbit
I think we will try to get a piece of glass cut but it won't be this month as we're on an economy drive and garden tables come way down the list.
dogs and chickens
You poor thing, what a roten thing but would have to happen in your economy month! I did have to laugh at the thought of you hovering the lawn though I wish you had a photo, that really would be one for the album! Your neighbours must have had a real laugh Michelle
