SeramaSilly
Does anyone use Ecover dishwasher tablets? I've heard that they don't clean tea/coffee cups properly which is the same problem I had with a green dishwasher powder recipe I got from another forum so I've lapsed and gone back to Fairy dishwasher capsules! Guest
I have used Ecover Dishwasher tablets for several months now and I haven't noticed a problem at all. It won't hurt to give them a try. The box has 25 tablets, so not even a month.
Eyren
Does anyone use Ecover dishwasher tablets? I use them whenever I can find them and they're fine, but I don't put really greasy pans and stuff in the dishwasher - I mainly have it because there's so little worktop space in my kitchen the washing up gets out of hand after just one meal, and I run it on "eco" setting virtually all the time. AnnieP
I've used them for a while and no bad symptoms: My philosophy will be like the washing liquid: I will use Ecover and if and when things don't look so good, do a few with more chemically strong products adn then revert to Ecover again. Its got to be better than using the harsher products all of the time.
Lesley
We use them and don't have a problem - even with Carl's Tea Mugs.
SeramaSilly
Thanks Ginette, Redfox, Annie and Lesley - I'll definitely give them a try then! Sophie x
Guest
I can't get any Ecover Bleach. OH rang Ecover and was told they are incorporating it into their washing powder so there is none currently on the shelves. has anyone else had difficulty getting this? I spoke to Ecover at Fruitstock on Sunday. They confirmed that Laundry Bleach is being incorporated into their washing powder. They also said that lots of people had spoken to them about it over the weekend, especially those like me who use washing liquid. So I think they will be reporting back that the public still wants separate laundry bleach. If you are concerned that this might go off the market, it would help if you contacted Ecover and said so. www.ecover.com or ring the careline 08451 302230

PurpleHen
Just got off the phone to the careline - they say we should still be able to get the bleach by itself - even though they are incorporating it into the non bio powder He even said "do you use a health food shop?" - which I do, to which he replied "tell them to look harder - we definitely still do it". Guest
That's good news though Jackie. I can tell Waitrose to look harder now!

I have just got some from a healthfood store in Stratford upon Avon and there was loads there. Try checking Waitrose online, they usually stock it too. As I mentioned before, i use Napisan mostly for whites washes. It uses an oxygen whitener and sounds like it might be roughly the same as the Ecover one, but as they don't list their ingredients I can't tell for sure. Happymama
I have been reading in another thread about various Ecover products. I use the wash powder, fabric conditioner and washing up liquid.I would be interested if anyone can tell me where I can buy other Ecover products, as I have not seen them in the two main shops in my area, namely ASDA and Tesco. Thanks Ask them why not.. The (small) Asda in Darlington does sell the washing up liquid and washing powders.
The Dogmother
Some healthfood stores stock them. Most Waitrose definitely do. I found some good websites once, with competitive prices, but the links are on my machine at work.

theherd123
Oh i have just got my 'conversion kit' box of ecover products from So Organic. Im really pleased with them and will no doubt need more very quickly - the house is filthy due to it being full of builders all the time I swear everything i eat at the moment has brick dust in it! Guest
If you shop in smaller branches of a supermarket like tesco or Asda, and they don't stock the ecover products you want, then drop a line to the Stock Control manager, asking for the product to be stocked, as both companies do stock the full range of ecover preoducts, but the smaller stores wou;d not normally get them in, unless someone requests them. One Man Banned
re the fabric bleach - the shop we use in Stroud (such a pain I don't work in Stroud anymore!) is called Ectopia - they also do loads of different refills they stock the fabric bleach (bought some yesterday funnily enough) try here though, as they stock it here. Slightly different name so I'm going to check out if it is the same place! http://www.ecotopia.co.uk/detail.jsp?pName=ecover-ecological-laundry-bleach&cName=home-kitchen-all-home-kitchen-products A xx

One Man Banned
I think the boys are a bit busy in designing the Mk3 - and if you are reading this guys - GET BACK TO IT! So I don't think they'll have time to make a Hedgelu! But it's another idea though!!
Guest
yep- it's the same place. they also sell hedgehog houses too - so will probably be getting one of those as well! over 30squid for a hedgehog house?? It's very easy to make your own... http://www.apbz08.dsl.pipex.com/garden%20themes/hedgehog%20house/hedgehog%20house.html then you can get rescue hedgehogs from Miss Tiggywinkles... One Man Banned
Phil! I couldnt make that if I tried all year! - (can't even box in the pipework in my ensuite!) No i shall just plough my money into keeping that little shop in Stroud in business!! Don't need to rescue any hedgehogs as we have three that frequent our garden each night. I think they live in next doors garden under some logs so it would be nice for them to have a safe and secure place to be. and we feed them with Hedgehog food from Pets@Home and they have a bowl of water out too!
