Olly
I think your OH is a paragon amongst men! You should take extra special care of him.
chickencam
My man is very open minded and ED is happy to talk personal things in his presence and he doesn't flinch, but the mooncup Your man is truly enlightened
Jules.
I have just asked huuby does my moncup bother him. He replied "No, I don't see it"
The Dogmother
I remember The Boy once asking me what a smear test entailed (as I seemed to hate them so much). As I told him, he sat there with a look of terror on his face and his legs tightly crossed. Having said that, he's not particularly squeamish and was incredible after the nasty gynae ops I had - he had to do some things for me that a partner should never have to do
crazygal
Gosh, I really must appreciate my OH more. He is happy to boil mine for me, the sweetheart - is this the new definition of Love?! That is truly amazing! I grossed my husband out the other week when he was going to boil an egg, I had my mooncup in a saucepan, proceeded to drain away the water and he was like NO NO you CANNOT give me THAT saucepan no no no you ARE going to wash it aren't you??? Dearie me what a state he was in, of COURSE I wasn't going to then boil an egg in it but it was fun winding him up.
Olly
Must admit I use Milton - I am so absent-minded, I just know I'd leave it in a saucepan and then someone would come round ... It's bad enough leaving it in the bathroom, luckily as I have a downstairs loo people don't usually go upstairs, but I know one day I'm going to leave it there when visitors come! I have had a similar conversation with Him Indoors....who then proceeds to boil his hankies in my milk pan. I will have nothing to do with them. He doesn't realise that this pan has been "demoted" and is no longer used for culinary purposes. Put your mooncup in the dishwasher for the fun of seeing the reaction of OH's. SAB
This reminds me of when my daughter had just been born and a male friend was in my house and went to help himself to an iced drink as it was such a hot day - just managed to stop him in the nick of time before he put expressed milk (which was stored in icecube trays) in his drink! It was so funny to see his face when I explained as he was such a macho guy!!!
Spike-J
Hi, I'm new to the forum but do have a mooncup I bought last year. Has anyone else found them to be uncomfortable. I'm quite small (5'2'') and small framed. I bought the size recommended for women who've given birth but although I've one child I'm very aware I'm wearing it. I have trimmed the stem down but its uncomfortable inside- don't know if its just me. Anyone else had a similar problem? Thanks
The Dogmother
I can't wear one either Spike, and am also small. I have one child (C section) and chose the smallest size, but I had such problems inserting it and really made myself sore. I spoke to the GP about it as I wanted to use one, but she said that my pelvic floor muscles are too tight to be able to use one I was gutted. I donated mine to a friend
bronze
I've had 3 children. Two naturally one of them 9lb 14 and I had to buy the smaller one after trying the one thats recommended. I can still feel it though if I dont put it in properly
Spike-J
thanks for the replies girls, good to know its not just me. I do pilates, maybe that accounts for good pelvic floor muscles... in spite of normal delivery 8lb 3oz baby. may try smaller size or might just give up!! SAB
Just to speak up for the pelvic floor muscles of those of us who can use mooncup - the fact we can use them does not mean our muscles are not necessarily good! I think, like with everything, we are all different and what suits some will not suit others (same as with getting good fitting shoes!). Really we all just have to do what is best for us. On the subject of pelvic floor - pilates does help. All us women should try to exercise these muscles to help avoid incontinence issues as we age. Spike-J
sorry SAB, no offence meant. agree that everyone is different. I guess I'm just a bit fustrated that the mooncup doesn't seem to be for me- pelvic floor or what ever!
kaylis1980
i LOVE my mooncup!!! unfortunatly its been lost the past 2 months and now i am beginning to think my son has flushed it! i really am trying to put off splashing out for another because i know it will turn up then
SAB
No offence taken Spike-J, I just did not want anyone feeling they had inferior pelvic muscles! I am so sorry that mooncup is not for you as it has been so liberating for me and I wish all women could enjoy the benefits!
Olly
I love mine so much, I just wish I'd discovered it years ago ... got it out of the bag earlier this week, and life is so much simpler now I use this.
ChookieCaz
Ziggy have a look at a website called minkinappies.co.uk. They do washable nappies but they also do washable sanitary wear in fantastic colours, really great for girls. They also sell pouches to keep them in. ... (snip) ... Sarah.x They sound like a good alternative to Lunapads, depending on whether or not you want to have a variety of pads of different thicknesses or a pad where you add liners according to the flow. I like the choice of colours and patterns. I wonder if I can get my teenagers to consider them? At the moment, the whole subject is considered gross. Recently, I got caught out and had to use a disposable pad, so I might have to consider taking a washable pad with me "just in case", as I could have done without the soreness for the next few weeks after! ... so now it is no longer an issue to do with saving money (and the environment) When I tried the Mooncup, it didn't suit me, but at least there was a money-back guarantee, which I was able to use for more washable pads. My pelvic floor isn't too good to be able to use a Mooncup and I hope that it doesn't result in me needing the pads all the time.
Mutrix Farmers
I have good and bad days with my mooncup but I'm persevering with it! I bought a denture bath to put mine in to sterilise it (using Miltons). OH makes me put it on a high shelf in case Son sees it
AmandaR
I have good and bad days with my mooncup but I'm persevering with it! After reading this thread, I too bought a mooncup about 6 months ago. I don't think I have 'weak' pelvic floor muscles but I do have a problem with the moon cup leaking in the heavier days of the month. I have adjusted by using a couple of pads during those days for protection...all other days are great and very liberating! Still...I think it's better to use a couple of pads a month than a mountain of products. It has certainly saved me money!
AmandaR
Never done a quote before...couldn't have messed that up more if I had tried! Sorry. The black bold is meant to be the quote and the green 'quote' is meant to be my reply - sigh!

AmandaR
Egluntine, I am not even going to attempt to quote you - goodness knows how it would turn out but yep, that was what I was trying to do Thanks. chickencam
It took me ages to work out how to do quotes, insert a space after the quote brackets this makes it easier to delete what you don't need.
