Wow, that looks fantastic. What a brilliant birthday gift 8) . You were lucky with the weather too from the looks of things.

Those chicken rinds didn't look all that secure.....those pallet structures were just for shade weren't they :? . Mr Fox would be into one of those in a blink of an eye

Thanks for posting the pics, absolutely gorgeous.

What did Hugh cook? Did it taste good?

1st Course

Duck Egg Salad with Anchovies and Spring Onion.

2nd Course

Broad Beans, Peas, Asparagus, Chorizo meatballs served on Bruschetta

Main Course

Roast Chicken (legs removed and cooked seperately for half hour longer than the main bird) this highlighted the difference in the Dark & Light meat from the bird.

Creamy Spinach, whole Carrots, Crushed Potatoes.

Pudding

Elderflower Panacotta with Strawberries & Short Bread.

Champagne on arrival, Tea & Coffee at the end of the evening.

Nearly all of the above items were from various parts of River Cottage.

Were they lemon pekins? Depends on what size they are. Hard to tell from photo as there is nothing to help judge the size. Same shape as pekins.

If they were larger they could be cochins or Orps depending on whether the legs are feathered or not..
