Guest
It was my first time at the opening of the Next sale, last year I was too fat to wear any of their stuff! Although I did always pop in and look for things for James. It was an interesting experience, up at 4.30, queuing in a car park at 4.55 then in we went. I was quite restrained and didn't spend very much but got a few things I needed (nice winter coat for £30! and a swimsuit for my forthcoming hols) but one of the women I was with spent a small fortune, stuff for all the family and the home etc. She took a buggy to carry it all in (she is due to have a baby any day now so carrying stuff is hard) and had to queue, pay and dump bags in the car before going back in for a second lot! Of course now I'm totally shattered and ready for bed, I'll be struggling to stay up for Casualty tonight! The gym session after the hairdressers (I now have stunning pinky/plum streaks!) may have been a little too much. Own up, how many other Omleteers did this today? craftyhunnypie
Went very close to Next today, but didn't go in. Only because I said to hubby that all the chavs will be in there today grabbing the stuff that they normally wouldn't pay the price for. I couldn't have put up with pushing the chavs out of the way & the thought that they could be wearing the same as me & I might have paid the real top price for - just made me shudder! Trust me - Crewe chavs are cringeworthy! I would have liked to look at some of the accessories, bedding & other homewares tho. I like their smellies too. Congrats on being able to buy from Next pengy - a fabulous acheivement, go get 'em girl! Emma.x
Guest
Funny I did notice a few Chavs, but then this is Essex - Chav central. The one at Lakeside would have been worse though!
jomaxsmith
I hate to be smug but I had an online VIP slot for 6pm Weds so did my Next sale shopping from the comfort of my PC, some bits arrived today. I usually kit out my children for the year ahead with jeans and trousers and ordered shirts for hubby and lots of tops and jeans for me. Most of it will go back - which is just as well seeing as I spent £500+! I must admit I didn't buy a lot from Next this season as I didn't like much of it - but if it's half price I usually change my opinion! Guest
I thought about getting an online slot but I like to look at clothes that are that expensive! I buy cheaper ones than that on Ebay without having a look or feel but even at half price I like them in my hands! Most of my stuff comes from charity shops these days - got a lovely frock for £6 this afternoon which me or Mum can wear on our cruise! Janty
My son wanted to go but I couldn't face it this morning. Maybe next time.
Shirl
I popped in at around 3pm. I got a couple of outfits for the girls for next summer and 6 tops for me but 1 will have to go back. I hate going to the sale because I see stuff I paid full price for. River Island has its sale on too and I paid £17 for a T shirt in there last week and now its £
Helly Welly
I used to work in Next and the first day of sale was always a real buzz. The queues for the tills were about 1 1/2 hours but we really were working as fast as humanly possible. If i mentioned to customers that i liked an item they were buying, they would often ask what size it was and go and find one for me. Of course, we generally got first pick anyway. What was most funny though was seeing women rooting around on the floor for clothes that they didn't want when they were full price so why were they so bothered now. Next sales have always been the best, none of this 10% off rubbish, everything half price and that's that.
Helly Welly
Forgot to say, it's always worth going back around about day three or four of the sale as that's when the second markdowns happen and some items are half price again!
Tina C
*shudders* at the thought of shopping at any time. How did I get in here? Get me out!

Egg Lou
I did the "5 o'clock queue" thing a few years ago for Next.. but vowed never to do it again! loast half a nights sleep and although I did get fabulous bargins, I came out bruised and battered! Phonix
Nopes not me! I went to Manchester shopping but had my lie in first (well was still awake at 7:30 but with no alarm lol) and didnt go in next as I know that I usually don't like their stuff (well it doesnt like me) and so I don't want to be going in and being tempted by low prices to buy things that id end up never wearing! I did hit the sales in Urban Outfitters, River Island, Jane Norman etc and got a few bargains for my trip to Devon but was quite restrained for me (+ I don't like what anything looks on my at the mo ) but I had fun!!! xXx

RedReader
I woke up at 4.30 & was tempted but decided I couldnt be bothered to get up so stayed in bed. I did go in later & managed to get a load of new stuff but have a feeling that some of it will go back next week as the changing rooms werent open. Our branch is quite small but it wasnt too crowded & there was no queue for the checkout. I was really pleased I didnt go there at 5am as it didnt open till 6 Hope everyone else enjoys their bargains RR x
Cate in NZ
I've done it in previous years, but not for the last couple of years or so. Had some pretty good bargains in the past to be fair, but the queues and the crush and then the fact that some items needed returning because it wasn't possible to try before buying all kind of started to put me off. Pity I couldn't get there this year though, there were a couple of tops that I liked in there but I was on a really tight budget at the time that I saw them and couldn't justify the expense. Half price might have been a different story though . Maybe, on 2nd thoughts, it's just as well that I couldn't make it to the sale this year Sounds like you got some great bargains there Pengy
tiggerlady
Ohhhhh the memories...I used to do the sale accompanied by DD and my Next card.We went about 3 times or so before I finally cottoned on to what was happening! DD was in her late teens at the time and I came out having spent over £250 each time! Strange thing was..I only ever got a t shirt or something out of it..she got the rest and I had to pay the debt off!! Not daft is she?? Egluntyne
Not my idea of fun I'm afraid. I spent the day filling a skip. Will be doing the same again today.
Lesley
*shudders* at the thought of shopping at any time. How did I get in here? Get me out! - I'm just wondering how I got in here as well Tina! - I'm off to Ebay........much more my style!
lizinsa
I used to work in Next and enjoyed working the first day of the sale but hated the clear up at the end of the 1st day! If you missed it/hate the 1st day crowds I'd recommend going back on Monday or Tuesday because that's when people are allowed to return items and so a lot of the stock returns and you get a lot of people admitting they got slightly caught up in 1st day fever
Krysia
I got up at 4.20 had a carton of juice in the car and arrived just as the door opened. 2 of my friends were queuing up from 4.30 which I consider far too mad! I got loads of bargains but all for my Son. I love next kids clothes especially the trousers/ jeans and coats. BUT I am not prepared to pay full price I am too much of a skinflint! ash has most of the clothes he needs for next year and some for the year after, I may have spent a small fortune but on;y have to get ash a few things in the next 12 months.
