Joojoo
Is your friend wearing leather shoes? This affects a friend of mine who concidentally is also called Jue, very badly
Joojoo
Bare foot is probably best. My friend never tends to wear anything on her feet when she's in the house or the garden (unless she's cleaning out her chickens which is yet another strange coincidence) I wonder if talc would help? edited to add: I've just googled for a solution and it mentions something called Boric Acid, which alot of people seem to swear by. Not sure what it is though
Joojoo
That is bizarre what a small world we live in!! Yeah my friend has exactly the same problem trying to dodge chicken poo Bicarb probably would work - I think now you've said that, that my friend said she had heard something similar somewhere before  I'll have a word with her tomorrow and let you know if she comes up with any suggestions . In the meantime, tell your friend that she's not on her own and that you know a friend of a friend with the same problem

Cate in NZ
I've got a son with smelly feet.....and yes, I really am talking about my son . His problem is largely down to wearing the same old stinking trainers day in, day out and not letting his feet breathe though .
Lesley
Isn't dilute vinegar supposed to help? - or it could be the start of a nail infection?
Looney
This thread has made me chuckle! My friends tend to have a lot of problems too I tend to get smellier feet when I'm wearing sandals, in fact some of my sandals could probably walk on their own! Flip flops are fine so I stick to them (not literally, that could be a whole other issue)

Blackrocksrock
http://www.eoco.org.uk/virgincoconut.shtml The Essential Oil Company : Coconut Oil This is what we used and no smelly feet as the smell is from the yeast which causes athletes foot and using a small amount of virgin organic coconut oil every day after washing them well massaged in works brilliantly - result no smelly feet ever again. Joojoo
My friend has just popped round after work and her feet are absolutely minging today, even though she said she had been walking round bare foot at work I've told her she's welcome to use my shower which is where she's off when she's finished watching me on the forum She said she's pleased she's made everyone laugh and she's hoping her feet will calm down a bit now the weather is cooling off. tiggerlady
Just a thought peeps...when I watched Anthea Turners Perfect housewife she had a tip for smelly trainers. It was to put loose tea into the foot of old tights(clean ones!!) and add a feww drops of essential oil of choice and stuff the thing into the shoe overnight. Cant say whether it works as I havent tried it,but all her other tips do..

Couperman
A good friend of mine, erm..... Anthony used to suffer from smelly feet, athletes foot, trench foot, virucas (sp), and most recently 'stinky rotten diseased toenail leprosy syndrome'. After he successfully sued 'Odour Eaters' who then went bust (the money back wasn't enough ) he then went to his Doctor who prescribed a drug with a name almost as long as this post. Now his feet smell exactly as they should, i.e, smelly but they do look much better......so he say's Kev.

Olly
There's nothing wrong with your friend's feet, the smell is caused by bacteria which - just like on other parts of the body - thrive in sweaty conditions! Some people (like your friend ) are more prone to this than others, and for reasons I don't quite know, feet produce their own peculiar pong! You can wash your feet lots, and try and stop them sweating (talc, Body Shop products, oil etc) but the problem is most likely with your SHOES! The trick is not to wear shoes with bare feet - wear them with socks and you won't have a problem. If they're open shoes like flip-flops or sandals, then they shouldn't get too sweaty; I wear those sockette things in my other shoes, I know they look a bit naff but it works. You can use that 'Trainer Tamer' spray or sprinkle bicarb in them, to try and get rid of the smell. I can remember my ex-husband playing cricket once in trainers with no socks ... that night I had to get up, open the sash window, put the trainers outside on the ledge and close the window again, the smell was so bad I couldn't sleep. Sorry, when I said 'You' above, I meant your friend Laura, obviously. She's so lucky to have a good friend like you who's willing to help her.
