Looney
Sorry to hear your news Clootie but you will work something out and in the meantime you need to draw on any /all positives you can find. My OH was made redundant a couple of months ago. Not great timing as I am on maternity leave and our baby was only a couple of months old at the time. He has gone (tail between legs) back to the company that he used to work for before taking the job that he just lost - if that makes sense. The company he has gone back to is a terrible employer, hence why he wanted to leave to start with, and he has had to go back on less money than before and on a fixed term contract Unfortunately this was the best offer he got and it buys him a bit of time to try and find a job that he actually wants to do. On the positive side, he has been able to spend a couple of months with his son, which is something that fathers very rarely have the opportunity to do and something that he will treasure for a long time. He only went back to work today - seems awfully quiet around here!
Rona
my husband is an Insurance Analyst with various companies in London and has commuted to the City for 25 years. I wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes. Crikey neither would I. Not to have to do that journey anymore must be a really massive tick on the positive side.
clootie
Well, an outing to Suffolk Animal Rescue on Saturday will result in some rescue bunnies for my daughter's rablu. The lady tells me there are three sisters to be rehomed - how can I leave one behind? I can't do that but I can't have three in a rablu can I? I'm not sure what breed or size they are so I suppose I'll have to make a decision when I get there - guess what that will be?
Rona
They say the rablu is good for up to 3 medium sized rabbits, so lets just hope they are all little ones.
Phonix
sorry to hear that clootie. Im sure thi8ngs will look up soon - your scottish venture sounds like a fab plan and def just a cube postponement. At least you've got an eglu and chooks now - im still waiting to be able to get that! Best of luck with rabbits - hopefully they'll be nice and small and you'll come home with 3! xxx
theherd123
Despite the circumstances you sound quite upbeat and i think thats half the battle when you are having a difficult time. I do hope the Scottish venture works out for you. You will get a cube eventually and it will be so worth it when it arrives

No point in making my husband feel any worse than he does already and I've got two kids on the go too. It'll all work out for the best - these things usually do. Anyway, I've got you lot to air my grumbles to if I need to !! (Air my grumbles? - That sounds positively rude. How very dare you!!)
Lesley
- no airing of grumbles on this forum I'm sure something good will happen - one door closes and another opens.........
chelsea
sorry to hear about hubby's job - it is just typical isnt it! I do believe in fate and "everything happens for a reason" and this could be just the opportunity to make your dream come true and move to scotland. We have this dream in common - we have been looking at moving up to Skye for about 6 years, we are going on holiday there in 8 weeks and hubby has just been offered a job in the highlands - so we might meet you up there some day!! good luck and keep smiling! AJuff
Friends of ours had that dream too. They did move to Skye and opened a B&B. Then reality set in and life was more difficult. After two years they returned back to NE England. They don't regret their move . . as they say, they lived their dream! Their advice would be to check your current life over, what do you like doing, what would you miss and then weigh up what you will gain, how would you feel etc . . . Life is too short so live your dream . . . and keep us posted!
