I bought a bottle of Ecover fabric softener yesterday and it had a leaflet attached to it regarding saving water - you could fill it in and send in to receive a Watercare pack and a Hippo water saver to pop inside your loo cistern, if you have old fashioned big flush loos (like some of my ancient ones!)

Me too, i had hippos in both our ancient cisterns, but they mysteriously disappeared.
