Anyone been to the Balloon Festival, Northampton? PICS ADDED

I live there!

 

I went a few years back, but now I just watch the balloons as they fly over our house and shout down permission to land in our field!!!

 

One year we had a close call, as one nearly got caught on the chimney it was so close!!

 

A fab day out for the family, I remember it being expensive though!

 

So haven't been since as I can see all the balloons from my garden, the chickens will be a bit freaked out I can imagine! :shock:

 

I like the sound of the craft stall though! 8)

Just back :P

 

We had a lovely day,& it was great weather - in fact my back is a little bit red :?

It was a bit windy for the balloons,so we only saw 2,but there was still plenty to keep us busy................& we breifly met Snowy too!

It was funny - Hubby was walking some bits back to put in the car boot & he was approached by a lady saying'thats one of my bags'!

Yes,it was Snowy,recognising one of her lovely patchwork bags,that I carry everywhere with me!

 

Later I met her again in the petting zoo,where her little boy very expertly scooped up a huge Brahma hen,which we were all admiring :lol:

 

One thing - if you do go,the ground didn't open until 12 midday, so we had an hours wait before we could get in :roll:

Doesn't say that on the site,which is misleading as the park & ride starts at 10am :lol:

Oh Cinnamon, I can't believe you left before the grand finale!

 

It was so funny when I saw your OH walking past out car with your bag - so I ran and accosted him! :oops:

Then you caught us trying to smuggle out that gorgeous Brahma hen! :lol: Might've known we'd meet up by the chickens :D

 

Did you see this one though? A gorgeous black bantam cochin family - mum had 6 chicks all hidden under her wings at one point 8)

We hung around until the end - the balloons set off at 6.45. What a sight, it was awesome!

We've had a fabulous day and as a bonus the boys are now unconscious 8) Even 16 year old admitted he enjoyed it :lol:
