Hi

 

I'm looking to change my mobile phone. Basically the new phone must have MP3, FM radio, decent predictive texting (my current phone is awful), photo 2mp or more and email?

 

I'm considering the Sony Ericsson W580i. Has anyone got one, recommend one?

Whatever you do, do not ever ever go for the Nokia 5310, it is RUBBISH, I am on my 3rd Handset (which works for once)

Most phones have MP3 players now as long as it has ability to take a memory stick of some description (SD/sony memory stick/XD) you'll be able to get more tunes on it i recentl;y bought 8GB for £20. Sony Ericsson's are generally considered good at any level.

I have a sony erricsson and love it. Had it for a year and a half ans still working fine.I think i'll stick with sony ericssons now as my sister has a samsung which is brand new but im not keen.Much prefer my phone.

I have a Nokia N95,which I think is brilliant.

Its nicely chunky,feels like a phone in your hand rather than a flimsy piece of plastic,& has some really great features too.

The camera on it is fantastic,& the internet service truly a joy to use. Can't say about predictive text as I am old school on that!

 

In fact when I went into Phones4U last week the 2 staff chaps in there said they were both getting that phone next,even though its been out for a few months,as its by far the best of its sort on the market

I've got a 580i in red, it is fantastic! I've put on loads of music, the shuffle feature is great for on the move, the headphones are a really great quality and it has a fantastic pedometer which I love! You can add in all sorts of fitness detail, weight, goals and it rewards you when you reach them (mine are very slow at being met! ) The camera takes good quality photos too.

I have to say it is my favourite mobile ever.

Have you thought of the iPhone? It has its draw-backs but it does have the music side, texting and email sorted - the camera is *ok* - I got mine (am an Apple Fan Girl ) last week and kinda like it - had the Sony Ericsson 750i before and liked it ok too. . . Just a thought for you.

I have the W850i too and I love it - even though I don't use half of what is on it.

My son has the 850i - he wanted a new phone and a new MP3 player for his birthday, so he got two in one It's brilliant. He even has some tiny speakers and uses it as his stereo system! (I think it works OK as a phone too! )

My eldest daughter has just got the Sony Ericsson C902 and is very pleased with it.

sorry cant offer much advice on it as it is only a couple of weeks old and being a technophobe have only just realised how to use it for texting and playing skill ball bingo

 

(mind you thats nothing odd - its just the way i am) as long as it phones out for me i am happy
