Guest
IKEA now seem to be doing something like that - they sell those ENORMOUS blue bags for 25p, saying that they can take the equivalent of 5 carrier bags (which would cost 25p). I think that they will charge you 25p if you fill 5 carrier bags rather than getting a blue re-useable one. Good one!
The Dogmother
I have hemp bags for shopping and then have only get carriers as they become my bin bags. I have environmentally friendly nappy bags for the dog poop and wonder if you can get the same for bin bags anyone know? BBx I think I saw some somewhere - was it Ecover? They were def biodegradable etc. Try some of the other green living sites: http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk/cgi-local/frameset/script/home.html http://www.ecover.com/gb/en/default_home.aspx http://www.gooshing.co.uk/ http://www.greenshop.co.uk/

Chicken on a mission
The G&B issue is exactly why I find it so hard to shop ethically. How on earth do you keep up with what is ethical and what isn't
Lesley
You just hope for the best most times Thalia - and look in on this forum of course Don't worry - I used to, but I've decided that none of us is perfect and as long as we all do a bit and become more aware of the issues......... then you can relax and enjoy life
spacedhopper
http://www.animalaid.org.uk/shop/chocolate.htm Some good chocolates on here, and contains no animal by products, so no chance of salmonela, also the money goes to a good cause. Have a look at the rest of the site too, its really good and the people at animal aid are really helpful and friendly.

Hellcat
Funny you mention that at THE shop we have been avioding stocking G&B's because of just this reason, but in the search for other organic choc nothing seems to match in yummyness, then the other day we heard the same news you all have and so we've decided to stock it . first order placed today yum yum...mind you it was good trying them all out. And while we're on the chockie subject has anyone tried Booja Booja chocs uuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmm...oh my gooodness we stock those too...a wee pricey but worth it every time...if people scoff at the price in the shop we give them a sample and more often than not they take it all back what they've said or buy some Heres the web site it does'nt do the choc justice which is a shame coz they're amazing http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=booja+booja&btnG=Search&meta= Oh, thanks VERY MUCH!!! Thats another £20 gone on chocolate. You have to stop posting these sites, the Hub is going to think I have a fat wish at this rate!

Hellcat
No. I've been trying to cut down, due to increasing waistline and not being able to do my clothes up. However, have just started the first period since having 5 of 5 (9 months ago) so I may have to raid the childrens stash... Or I could go if not. Already had the middle child in the bath fully clothed as he refused to undress! He then had a total meltdown...
bunee1
sounds like my kind of mothering skills....5 wow how'd you manage that, i'm just thinking about having another 1 and my mind is already boggling
Sheilaz
Helen's just gone offline, but I asked about 5 of 5 before. Apparently, it's family of 5, ie. 3 children & 2 parents. But, 3 young ones, still hard work, but also great fun. Well, in hindsight.
bunee1
Oh 3.....well if you havn't got a magic washing basket or magic husband it can feel like you have more kids than you actually do!!!!
Hellcat
Thanks for sorting that out Sheila. Yes, girl, boy, boy. And yes, some days I wonder why i get out of bed (today being one of them) I can't imagine having 5 - although count in the hub and it feels like 4 straight away... Had my dad for the past week too, so theres the 5! That could be why I feel so out of control today...
The Dogmother
Just blame it on your hormones Lovie - then the men don't ask any questions, just go Like your style - that's the sort of mothering I apply - Rosie now knows not to push her luck (we have had bed without supper, and clothes out of the window before now). You have to do that with three though or you'd never have any semblance of order I take my hat off to you Helen.
Hellcat
Claret, you always make me feel better about my flashes of temper with the children! I must confess that I have been applying this approach a lot more these days, rather than shouting my head off and/or issuing smacks to the hands or legs (which I have never liked doing, but sometimes ). His favourite soft toy flew out the bedroom window last week, the day before it was the bathrobe 'cos he wouldnt put it on, and yesterday the fully clothed bath. The message might just be getting through now though, as he came in this morning, gave me a big hug and said 'I'm going to have a good day today, mummy, you won't have to tell me off'. Bless. Now, if only...
The Dogmother
Awww, it brings tears to your eyes when they do that, and you wonder if you've been mean, but it takes that hard work every once in a while to get them on track. Rosie is a good girl, and i can take her anywhere and (mostly) be proud of her behaviour, but she still has her moments, and I guess we'll have more when she's a teenager.
