Cinnamon
Did anyone else catch this last week? I Sky +'d it,not expecting too much, but was really suprised to enjoy it hugely The slightly odd premise is that a modern girl, played by the very beautiful Jemima Rooper,is mad about 'Pride & Prejudice'. One day she finds Lizzie Bennet in her bathroom (stick with me here), & wanders into P&P world via a portal. Sounds mad,I know, but its actually very well made, brilliantly acted & very, very funny. The second episode is on tonight at 9pm, & I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good costume drama & a bit of a laugh

Cate in NZ
Aaaaargh. This show was originally sceduled to be shown in March and they kept shuffling it back and back, so glad to hear that it's finally getting an airing, but severely upset that I can't watch it. My sister was part of the production team (look for Jemima on the credits, she's usually script supervisor or production assistant, that's my baby sister....no baby really, but 6 years younger than me ). She told me a bit about it, said that it sounded odd, but it worked really well and that I'd love it . I know for sure that she really enjoyed working on it

Sounds mad,I know, but its actually very well made, brilliantly acted & very, very funny. I have a feeling the writers pinched the idea from Jasper Fforde. Google "The Eyre Affair" and "Lost in a Good Book". Very good reads by the way! Not caught the TV series yet but it did look good from the ads I'd seen for it. MedusA
Loved last nights episode, but I can't believe that Jane married Collins Yes. I was shocked by that too! Mr Collins was so creepy, he made my skin crawl. I was glad that Amanda hit him where it hurts, so to speak. I am loving it, though. I liked the fact that Amanda being on £27,000 a year, made her a rich woman. The poor girl is trying so hard to make the book run it's true course, and the characters just aren't co-operating. Very much looking forward to the rest of the series.

SamSandwich
I love Lost in Austen! Turned in on thinking it would be awful acting, or at worst, soppy drivel I just fell in love with it! Great moment in Ep1 when Lydia is in Amanda's bed. She immediatly thinks it is a game show, starts mouthing off about Lydia being in her bed and flashing! I could feel her embarrassment when Lydia looked at her like she was crazy!

stoice
I love this program! (Even got my OH hooked and he hates 'girly period dramas' as he puts it) Interesting twist on the Georgiana/Wickham scenario and as for Caroline Bingley's revelation! Funny
Egluntyne
It gets better and better....and there were some chickens last night. Mr Bennet is the best I've seen.
stoice
I saw the chooks too! In fact, there was a scene in Mr Bennets study with the sound of chickens in the background. My immediate thought was for my girls - i raced up to the window only for my OH to press mute. Panic over. Mr Collins is THE CREEPIEST ever! Truly revolting. little cluckers
I LOVE IT!!! It's not very often that I am so captivated by tv but I hang on every word and go through all the emotions with the characters, I can't wait to see what happens next but I don't want it to end
