chickencam Posted September 22, 2008 Share Posted September 22, 2008 I agree with what you said Egluntine about John Sargeant being a deadringer for Jo Brand they must be related surely He was a real gent, we have a friend who is very like him in mannerisms and speech it made us chuckle Gary Rhodes was just as awful and up himself as I thought he would be, Karen looked like she had, had enough of him. The first dance off is always the worst, it was a shame to see Phil go but Don did dance much better second time round. I hope I look even half as elegant as Cherrie Lungie(sp) when I am her age, she looks full of life too and not plastic and false looking like Bette Midler, they must have a factory turning them out in LA I think Austin Healy was by far the best closely followed by the hip man from Holby, can't wait to see the girls, they are are an odd but interesting group. Glam is back for Saturday nights, it is a shame though that the results show is on so late on a Sunday night, there must be so many little girls out there who would love to watch it. I quite fancy Gary Rhodes, but don't like him as a person, the swimmer looks rather dishy. Havign said that, I didn't see any of them dance so can't really say... promise to try and watch some of the next episode I quite Flavia too Egluntine - she comes across much nicer than I'd orginally thought when I saw her interviewed after the last series. I also like Phil Daniels (from his Quadrophenia and Blur video days, I have never watched a single episode of Eastenders). Shame he went out, but Don was better in the dance-off and although I don't care for Gary Rhodes, Karen is my favourite female professional dancer. That said, I don't think she'll ever top the gorgeous Ramps as a partner. My favourite male celebrity was the guy from Holby City as he looks a bit like Orlando Bloom. (Shallow, me?) It was lovely to see Alesha and her Muttley-laugh again. I'm sure Matthew was very happy to dance with her again. Anybody know why Nicole Cutler isn't in it this year? Because it's good TV Sorry to sound so cynical, but I was involved in a reality show last year and it's plain that they contestants are originally chosen for their ability to 'give good TV'; the more entertaining/talented ones and those who are put in because they are the peoples' choice will stay in for quite a while (remember Kate Garraway?). I think that Gary Rhodes will turn out to be quite irritating, but he will stay in for a while and I think that his dancing will improve once he is less self-absorbed. I did notice her smile seemed larger than ever. I assumed she's had veneers or some such cosmetic dentistry. I agree Camilla is weird. She's one of my least favourite female professionals. Another question. Why were Brendan and Karen dancing with different partners on Sunday? All the others seemed to be with their usual partners. Have they split? Camilla is my hubby's favorite dancer (although Orla runs a close second). I always point out her legs are too thin, they look odd. I like her though and think she looks very elegant dancing the ballroom dances.
