buffie
Had a test drive at the weekend in the new Fiat 500 and wondered if anyone else has got one. I've decided to get the sport for 3 years (PCP) , with a few toys, when my mini goes back after it's 2 year lease. I actually dreamt about it, it's a car for goodness sake! Too much top gear me thinks Anyway it's fun building it on the fiat website and adding lot's of bits and bobs. Buffie x
The Dogmother
Personally I wouldn't get one, and that's coming from someone who had, and loved, one of the original Fiat Cinquecentos. I had one of these (the new ones that is) as a courtesy car not long ago and it was pants. Sorry Buffster... perhaps it was just a duff car, but I took it back after a day and asked for something else.
Mrs Frugal
Oh Buffie!! That's on my car wish list!!
buffie
Oh that's a shame Clare. My friend has one but he bought the 1.2 for him and his partner (big guys) and I'd have gone for the 1.4. It's bouncier than the mini but it's fun, great reviews and safe as houses. I'll not be put off Buffie x
buffie
Oh Buffie!! That's on my car wish list!! I never, ever cared about technology, gadgets etc UNTIL wait for it... I got the Eglu. So now home is awash with 'Apple' and I've got into cars. Very strange I'll come over and see you Kate and take you for a spin or a bounce!!! Mrs Frugal
LSH says I can swap Fred, my lovely Corsa for a Fiat 500 if I want but I love my little car to bits and will have to wait till he falls to bits to replace him so I will make do with a spin in yours Buffs . I've got more into cars since Top Gear..........and Richard Hammond..........but that's another thread .
The Dogmother
I hope that the one I had was just a Friday Car Buffie. I didn't want to be negative, but it was truly awful.
Lesley
How could you!! - change a Mini for a Fiat I'm not going to tell my little Mini
Omletina Kyckling
They are soooo cute....Fiat 500s, not Richard Hammond...but then again.... When I was ickle, mum had two of the original 500s and they were great. The newer ones are better built though (I hope!) as our neighbour also had an original one, and she parked it in her garage, slammed the door and the whole thing fell to the floor....the bottom had rusted away! There are plans for a convertible.....but Baby Landy would be heartbroken if I got more cars....he's my number one boy and I could never replace him in my heart..... Helen&Lee
I love the look of them We are going to need a second car when we are eventually in a better position job wise and this car is on my list to look at! Reading Clarets post, I will have to do some research. There is a website which owners post on (it's for any make of car) my OH always looks on it. Pity we looked at it after we got a Freelander as it developed every single fault owners posted about We have a Hyundai now and found any comments aboutthat are pretty acurate. I'll try and find out what the website is called, communications are a tad difficult with my OH as he's in Dubai, the phones in his hotel aren't working and they called Ramadan last night so nothing will happen for 4 days. buffie
Lesley it's not the car it's the cost, aftercare/service (what service ) and it's time for a change. I want to be looked after and have a lovely garage who will do just that Kate you're on Don't worry Clare, I've tried the lounge 1.4 which has the same engine and it was absolutely fine. I get nervous when they sit with you, All he needed was a clipbaord and I was taking my test again. MIkey did lots of I was on form Buffie x
buffie
Sorry Helen, cross posted. I've done a lot of research already It's just got to take me locally most of the time and the odd longer journey. I think I've got about an 8 week wait Buffie x
Helen&Lee
What colour are you thinking of? I've seen a powder blue one and a cream one - I still can't decide which I liked the best.
buffie
I've gone with the bog standard 'free' bossa nova white. When I was going to have another mini I refused to pay for paint. Felt wrong. Anyway I'm having all sorts of strips on it and chrome, sport alloys and fancy sounds, electric sunroof etc According to the chap at Souls mostly men choose the sport It made sense as many of the things I want come as standard so I chose the sport Buffie x
Omletina Kyckling
I think you've chosen well with the white....I don't think it looks good in most of the colours (the red is very mundane) and think the white is best (like the powder blue too though, although if I ever have that colour, it'll be an Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite!) What colour interior have you gone for? I loved the red leather with the white!
buffie
Red and black. Can't have white in the sport and it's not dog friendly or me friendly. Chicken poop on white leather isn't a good look Buffie x
Omletina Kyckling
Great choice, it was the red and black that I liked....I could never have white anything like that....I have friends who wear white linen trousers.....I would get a mark on them before I'd left the bedroom!! Bet you can't wait to get it! I am waiting for the cabriolet to come out next Spring then I might need to do some serious hinting to hubby!! buffie
I can change at any time in my 3 years BUT I don't think daisie will be ok in a soft top. The sunroof is almost the same feeling My hubby has just called and is going to look at a date for the mini to go back and we're in business. It's just a car, daft to be excited but I am Buffie x

buffie
Jiggling Not yet I've never had a new car before the mini and never bought one. Couldn't spend thousands on a car (hen houses yes ) The mini was on the forecourt so I took it, this will be the first car I have actually spec'd (think that's the term ) Chosen colour etc. I think that's why I feel excited about it. Nicola H
Oh Buffie you are so lucky I love the Fiat 500 but it is just not practical for me at the moment with children to ferry around and lots of shopping .............You are so right about Mini's being expensive we bought a second hand one for Tom and it has cost us a small fortune already...........
