Putting together your own cube.... how did it go?

Recommended Posts

Hi

Our new (cube green) is due to be delivered mid November (feels like ages away...) My OH wont be around then but if I can I'd love to have a go at putting the cube together myself (with the help of my teenage sons) as that would mean I can get my new chickens a bit quicker! :P:P (hopefully the following weekend if I have my way  )

So just wondering how easy it is to self assemble? Is it quite straight forward and what tools will we need? Has anyone any tips or advice to help me along ?

Only wish we had been in the chicken delivery area as I understand the man from Omlet would have assembled the cube for us. I'm sooooo desperate to get started :lol::lol: this waiting game is torture and November can't come soon enough !

You have teenage sons? Its a doddle!

I put my first one together with the help of a FIVE YEAR OLD!

The second one was put together for me by a teenage boy, whilst I ran a hen party! (he wasn't on the hen party, was just hanging around looking for jobs!)

Hi Vicky

My (cube green) is being delivered on the 30th  so will let you know how easy it is, will have the help my OH but he is not very good at following instructions so it will be interesting. Will let you know any areas to be aware of when you construct yours. :D

Put mine together all by myself and it hasn't fallen apart yet :D

It took a few hours as it was a very hot day (remember them?), so I did keep breaking off for refreshment and to read instructions, but it wasn't very difficult and will be even easier if you have some help (even if it's only to make the tea!) :D

I did it myself in a couple of hours! With help from OH when I needed something held in place while I screwed it to something else. We've just bought a new house and loads of new furniture - believe me, the instructions are much clearer than anything Ikea, BnQ and John Lewis have to offer!

Definitely recommend the electric screwdriver. And putting all the run clips on starts to hurt your fingers afer a while......

My roof does seem to be a bit far from the side panels, but it's actually a channel to drain away all the roof water.
