The Dogmother
Well this one made me laugh =- Lesley told me about it in a very noisy cafe on saturday morning. The noise combined with me being a bit 'mutton jeff' led me to believe at first that she was talking about MUD cake.. a sort of molten chocolate cake. Rosie's ears pricked up at the mention of chocolate cake and she just had to make it! I made her mix it in a bowl first as her idea of mixing translates as pebble dashing the kitchen It turned out beautifully and she loved it.. not that I saw any of it mind! Here we are then... chocolate all round her mouth and loving it. I thought that it would be good in little ramekins as it looks a bit souffle-like

Mrs Webmuppet
I foolishly mentioned this recipe at work the other day. So guess what I was doing at 1am this morning at work ( I was on nights) .............................we don't have very big mugs at work so I made big batch of mix and split it between a whole host of smaller mugs........According to the lads this may have to be a fixture on night shift! You know, that is a fabulous idea, most workplaces have a microwave, you could make the mix up in a mug, put cling film over the top and take it with you to make for afternoon tea.....just think how that'll make your work colleagues when you produce that in three minutes!! Mrs Webmuppet
I did think I could leave a tub of the dry mix already measured out in my locker, I usually have a bottle of oil in there, there's always milk in the fridge......I would just have to remember the egg! craftyhunnypie
Already sent it to my sisters work & we are camping at the weekend again. Our caravan doesn't havea microwave, but my sister in laws does! Emma.x

missuscluck
The chocolate mug cake is spreading here too. My friend Clare and I went to the pub for lunch. Pondered on the puddings and I suggested we go back to mine and make the mug cake. We made one between us and ate it. Lovley. The kids and their friends have made it after school and we doubled it and cooked it in a pudding basin and ate it with Ice cream for pudding yeaterday. Has anyone tryed it with chocolate chips? Im wondering if you cook it a little less weather you can make it a little more gooey. Katie keeps asking if she can make one At all sorts of odd times in the day!! Lesley
My sister pushed some squares into the cake when it was cooked - it melted into a gooey mess.....Yum!
Omletina Kyckling
........try adding a few dessertspoons of dessicated coconut, and add a bit more milk to accommodate it.....it gives it a whole new life (if you like coconut!) Guest
to celebrate our first henniversary, I made us one each for breakfast! Ian's rose more than mine but I was able to fit more cream into mine It was nice but a little dry, I think it definitely needs ice cream and/or choccie chips but very nice anyway, burp! ..lay a little egg for me
I have been wondering about trying this for ages, but, see, we only have an ancient 650W microwave and rather small mugs. Some of the pics of it I have seen look as if the cake is a bit anaemic but Poet's look lovely. So, has anyone tried it in a feeble microwave? Is it chocolatey enough? Be quick now, I'm about to make coffee and you just can't have coffee without cake, apparently. Otherwise I'll just have to make do with the lemon drizzle cake I made yesterday! Guest
it is chocolatey enough but would benefit from the addition of choccie chips or vanilla ice cream. My m/wave is 850w so I did it for 3 mins 20 secs. If I were you I'd try it for 3 mins 30 secs. give it go, be a devil!
Lewis
I've just tried at and it spilled all over the top of the mug onto the microwave tray! I'll have to use a bigger mug and smaller quantities next time! It tased alright though, just was VERY hot when it came out of the microwave. ..lay a little egg for me
Well, I had a go yesterday. Did not have a big enough mug so made it in two large ramekin dishes. Cooked for 4 mins in my 650W microwave...turned out perfect. Perhaps a little dry...my son insisted it needed a lot of cream! Only problem is that we are a family of 3 and dividing it by 3 might be a bit mean on quantities...would doubling it be just too decadent do you think??!! Mrs Webmuppet
When I made the cake at work, I doubled the recipe and made three smaller mugs worth of cake (we don't seem to have any big mugs at work) and cooked it for three mins per mug.
