Five minute Chocolate Mug Cake

Recommended Posts

Bad news folks, this is quick and easy....

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

These are American measures...can't think it would change much to use Imperial/metric, though.

4 tablespoons flour

4 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons cocoa

1 egg

3 tablespoons

milk

3 tablespoons oil

3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)

Small splash of vanilla extract

1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.

Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.

Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT!

(this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

I'm told it's delicious with vanilla ice cream!

And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?

Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!:wink:

I wish I had seen this earlier tonight, before I made some chocolate brownies. They were easy to make, but this sounds even quicker and easier!

But my microwave doesn't do 1000watts. I suppose I'll just need to cook it for a bit longer.

Oh noooooo!

This sounds extremely dangerous. You know those evenings when you've had your tea but you still feel as if you want something else ... that's why I never buy biscuits, but I've always got these ingredients in the cupboard.

I'm going to forget I ever read this.

well, maybe I should just try it once, to see if it really works ...

Very nutritious....and very filling..... :vom:

I had to test this - in the interest of forum safety you understand...........

I made the mix in a bowl as i wasn't sure of the size of mug needed........

I used the largest mug I have - alongside an ordinary sized mug in this photo.......

Very scary in the microwave..... (yes, I do use brown kitchen paper, it isn't dirty)

The finished cake - you could share it....but it saves on washing up if you just dig in with a spoon

I used level tablespoons of sugar and SR flour and added a good dollop of Camp coffee in with the milk (slightly less milk)

I cooked it for 3 mins at 900W - slightly on the dry side but obviously fine with cream :D
