Lesley
That's one I haven't bought! - what is the description Egluntine? I sent for a few samplers the other day! - I've ODd on the smell of them all and have had a headache ever since
Egluntyne
That's one I haven't bought! - what is the description Egluntine? Savory spices, zesty cinnamon and a sweet potpourri. (sic) It is lovely....but my fave so far of the Christmas 2008 'flavours' is Silver Bells.
pepe
I love Yankee candles too! Last year I bought a lovely simple white tart burner from QVC, all I can say is the tarts are brill, they last ages & ages. I love wedding day, luckily we have a lovey shop in Bath that sells lots of Yankee candles
Trish
Sorry to ba a complete party pooper but after doing so research on the internet I'm now only burning beeswax candles, if I want sent I use them in a oil burner. There is no legislation to make manafactureres tell you what is in their candles and most are cheap petro-chemicals, the combustion of which leaves pollution similar to being in a room of several smokers! I have no idea what yankee candles use but I doubt it's beeswax.
Egluntyne
Found this: The Yankee Candle Company has been devoted to the art of crafting candles for thirty years. We use only the highest quality materials: pure cotton wicks, glassware, and premium-grade, highly-refined paraffin waxes specially blended for optimum burning and fragrancing performance. Reikiranf
Paraffin wax is made from petroleum and is therefore a petro-chemical. I know that candles made from paraffin wax tend to burn cleanly and so are less likely to leave sooty residues on walls and ceilings, however, I have read that they may give off carcinogenic fumes I love candles and burn them daily but will be changing to a different type of wax once I've used up my existing lot Yes, I know I should just bin them but I can't bring myself to as I hate waste and I spent alot of money on them. I'm fussy about what I eat and what products I put on my skin so I should really give a bit more thought to what I breathe in. redhotchick
I was wandering around Debenhams in Liverpool the other night and stumbled across a huge display of Yankee Candles. Silver Bells was very nice. Want. Want. Want.
Lesley
I don't actually burn mine - I just like the smell as they are! I suppose I shouldn't really be supporting the petro-chemical industry by buying them......but then, I also buy petrol........diesel ..... oops! I will be making beeswax candles just as soon as our bees get working a bit harder!

The Dogmother
I've not tried any of these, although the clean cotton one sounds like my taste. I have used Aveda purefume candles before because I love the scent, but I hate that candles only seem to burn down so far before the wick drowns and the rest of the candle is useless
