Blackrocksrock Posted November 1, 2008 Share Posted November 1, 2008 About half a mile from my home there has been a lot of police activity all week and we have had a cannibis factory with over £400,000 of cannibis plants found on the property. Its right on a main road too with neighbours opposite who did not suspect anything. I am told the people renting the house were sleeping in the outbuildings as the plants needed the house! In the summer there was another one found about 6 miles away but they had no garden and when they had 340 bags of compost delivered to the house via the main door on the street then things were thought and they were caught. Omletina Kyckling Posted November 2, 2008 Share Posted November 2, 2008 Mum and dad used to live in an old weaver's cottage up in t'hill near Huddersfield, and there was a chap there who had managed to build a hotel with a helipad in a greenbelt area - he had bought a quarry at the top of mum and dad's road and was building a house there, and there was somebody living in a motorhome on the site, complete with Rottweilers etc.....it turned out that he'd made his money through drug smuggling, and used his helipad at the hotel to bring stuff in - the police turned up one day, complete with helicopters, armed police in flak jackets, the lot....they arrested the people in the motorhome and dug up the quarry where they found drugs buried....it went on most of the day. Dad was retired by this point and home all day...the first he knew of it was the next day when the Daily Mail turned up wanting to know what had happened....he'd missed the lot!!! The roof of a normal house won't show up but the roof of a house used for cultivating cannabis will glow red. I thought they would be red but they are a lilacy colour - quite pretty. Last year was near the racecourse.
