Chook n Boo Mum
Got our first one yesterday, with a thank you letter for the reunion my DH organised last weekend, so a stamp saver I feel! Wasn't a Christmasssy pic either, only realised once I'd opened it up & read it....but the lady had taken the photo herself, so I suppose that's better really, more personal! Sha x p.s. got the Royal Mail one today too! Wonderful, so thoughtful!! Edited November 19, 2008 by Guest
Ain't Nobody Here
No real cards here yet, just the Post Office one! Egluntine, I've had a thought . Perhaps they've both changed gender and therefore names and that's why you don't recognise them . Donna and James? Deborah and Joe?
Egluntyne
I don't think so ANH. The only transgendered person I can think of is the bloke in the card shop who used to called Felicity.
Redwing
I got one from the Royal Mail today. I was touched that they had thought of me. Who are Douggie and Janice? Are they mystery friends who send a card and you have NOOOO idea who they are? They are but they have followed us from house to house and even know the names of our children. oooooh! stalkers. nice. Looney
Why haven't I had a card from Royal Mail? Where's mine?! DA - I would definitely say something in your card to the rude round-robin people. Something like, "we had a wonderful wedding and spent the day surrounded by our family and friends. We were so pleased so many people could share the day with us". Wonder if they would get the hint?!
Egluntyne
DA, how awful! Do you think they sent it deliberately? I'd try to make a joke of it. And remind them of it each and every time I saw them. Haven't seen them for three or four years, never really cared for them much so not offended at all. Just illustrates how lazy and thoughtless it is to send round robins ...... boasting of success usually. "Ooops, word censored!"ody send them if they've had a rubbish year do they? We usually have vigorous debates about these awful things on the forum around this time of year. . We get a few...one from a spectacularly conceited couple whom we barely know. What they didn't mention last year amid the "mum is still going strong at 96...she is such a treasure...we so enjoy the way her sense of humour brightens every occasion " and Briony surprised us with a darling grandchild last month The paramedics were marvellous type posts, was that he had been turned down for ordination into one of the mainstream churches. I've had one of those years . Methinks I'll draft something along those lines and send it to all those people who send me the "boasting" type. That'll shut them up . Cooks
I never write anything elaborate in my cards!, just a best wishes type of thing, depending on whether they are family etc... I have never had a card that has more than that in it. No news about the family or anything! I feel I'm missing out now..

Well, reinvented cards anyway-will probably cut up the ones we recived last year to make new ones! Although I could just send all of the Omlet christmas cards I have-I think I have three packs, (don't know how that happened!)
