pistachio
This song is so fantastic for covers and I love to play it on my piano and more than once have ended up in tears. It's an amazing lyric based on King David but is such a universal love song and love of life song. Rufus and Martha wainright did a good cover, jeff buckley of course. But leonard is fantastic - especially when you know a little of his life and know a part of what the words might mean for him years after he wrote them GREAT TASTE!!!! I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!! Ain't Nobody Here
I love that song. It was the first song I heard on my car CD player after I was told that my half-sister had died after battling breast cancer. She was 39 with an 8 year old daughter. It always moves me to tears too. Snowy
I didn't click on the youtube link, but you can only be talking about Hallelujah - I first heard it on Shrek, moved me to tears then and it still does every time I hear it. Best song ever written I reckon

bluekarin
For years I never 'got' what everyone was on about when they mentioned Jeff Buckley's Grace album and in particular Hallelujah. Until I listened to the song this year. Properly. What an astounding song. It has the same affect on me as Jonny Cash's version of Hurt. The BBC 1 trail they are using it in is so moving. Brings a tear to my eye.
