Ebay - should I be worried. Resolved!

Recommended Posts

Bought some mealworms (OK, a lot, £25 worth - they'll last for months) from Ebay on 1st Nov.

Hadn't arrived 2 weeks later so emailed the seller. A few days later got a reply saying he'd posted them, give it a few days. I did (a week) then emailed back. A week later he responded saying his courier had put a card through my door and I should contact them.

I emailed saying I hadn't received a card (if I had, doesn't he think I'd have been in contact :evil: ) and asking who his courier is.

Email back from him saying merely "my delivery company is apc". Fat lot of good - who the heck are "apc"? Emailed to ask who APC are, and for name/address/package number/date of delivery etc etc. Waiting for response.

He has good feedback and has had good feedback very recently for the same item I bought. Is he just being inefficient or should I start worrying/taking action :? .

He's "animalfeedresourceland" - anyone used him before?

I can't find him on ebay.

I think he could be a little more on the helpful side. I'd contact him again asking him to chase his courier or get a tracking number from him. If he used a courier, he'll have one. Unless he was a little on the slow side despatching your item in the first place, I would have thought you should have received it by now. The courier company could have delivered it elsewhere - it's not unheard of. Sorry ANH - hope it's resolved soon.

Yes,be worried.

Open a Paypal dispute right away (you did pay by paypal, right?), & got your money back from this chap.

If you want to pm me his details, like the listing number,I can do a bit mre digging for you,but after 2 plus weeks you need to take action.

I can also help with the Paypal claim,if you need it (done enough of them in my time  )

Looking at My Ebay, the item doesn't show up as a "won item" :? . I do have the PayPal documentation showing payment though, which shows his Ebay ID and the item ref.

I've tried to start an "Item not received" but because the item doesn't show in my "won items" I can't "continue" :(:? . I can't find any sign of him either but a few days ago I could because I saw his feedback for just a week or so ago.

I have found a phone number (on PayPal) and phoned it. I got his mum  who didn't know her son had used her phone number  . She says he's been having problems with his courier. I'd like to believe her :? . We'll see if he gets in touch tomorrow :? .

I've had a look at PayPal and I can open a dispute within 45 days of payment, so I'll give him a day or two.

(I haven't left feedback, luckily)

Thanks Moochoo - I'll try APC

Thanks Cinnamon - I'll PM you

A point of note .

If he has not used HIS OWN phone number but his mothers, his ebay account will be suspended.

It is totally against ebay rules to do this.

You need to make a Paypal claim (not just a dispute) right away, & you will get your money back in a couple of weeks time.

I hope I'm not stating the obvious but have you checked the "period" your items are shown for?

By default, mine show items from the last 31 days... 1st November was 32 days ago. (I'm looking at my "Sold" items but it should be the same for "bought" as well).

I have a drop down box at the top of the list so I can check other periods, e.g. 60 days. If you haven't already done so, try selecting another "period" and your won item may reappear.

Hope this helps.

Go ahead and file a dispute with Paypal. I think you have something like 45 days to do this, so don't let your time run out or you'll be stuck with no recourse. If he sends your items, you can always cancel the dispute. If he doesn't, you can escalate to a claim and Paypal will try to recover your money if they find in your favour (which I'm sure they will).

I just went through this with a seller and was able to get all of my money back.

:? I have just received an overnight delivery via APC - everything ontime and properly delivered. Just to make a point that it might not have been sent :liar: Recently OH has nearly started 2 disputes with paypal over non-received goods - they were sent via Royal Mail - and turned up eventually, but were not posted when the sender had said :shameonu:

Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks for the advice, everyone! I tried the "60 day" period but it still doesn't show.

However, I have had an email from the seller:

hi,

APC's web site is http://www.apc-overnight.com/index.php and if you

enter your post code and consignment number: 8810270

then you can see the tracking info. I am having some trouble finding out

exactly where the parcel is so in the mean time i have sent out another

parcel and it will arrive Thursday or Friday. I am very sorry about the

very long delay and can assure you that your parcel will be with you

very shortly.

Fingers crossed  . If it doesn't arrive by Saturday, I'll definitely start a claim. I still have about 2 weeks before the claim time runs out so will give him a chance to prove he's genuine.
