What did you put in your home made Christmas hampers?

Recommended Posts

I wonder if we could have a thread where all the home made hamper makers posted what they made in their hampers & possibly with the recipes too?

Then it's alltogether, nice & tidy & easily accessed by me for reference for the hampers which we plan to make next year

Hi Pam, where did you get your ribbon from & do I remember you had some pudds wrapped in chook fabric? Maybe I don't shop in the right places, but I never see any nice chook fabrics - am now on the lookout for next year!!

My hampers had some of the following:

Spiced Cranberry Vodka,

Limoncello,

Apple Schnapps,

Sloe Gin,

Crabapple Brandy

Lebkuchen,

.....anybody noticing a pattern here.....

Chocolate Dipped orange sticks,

Peppermint Creams,

Chestnut Jam,

Apple Chutney,

Crabapple Jelly,

Apple Jelly,

Mincemeat,

Orange, apple & cider jelly,

Cranberry chutney

Cranberry Jelly,

Onion Marmalade,

Orange Marmalade,

Lemon Marmalade

Orange & Drambuie marmalade

Mini Christmas Pudds,

Mini Christmas Cakes,

Apple Chutney,

Green tomaot chutney,

Mixed tomato chutney,

Homemade firelighters

Box of 4 eggs.

nestled into diddy brown paper bags or baskets using shredded paper or popped popcorn as packing.

I also made several bigger pudds and sold them...with the idea planted that if they returned the bowl I would refill it for next year, also several Christmas cakes & lots of jars got sold at a Christmas fair.

I'm quite pleased with myself & plan to repeat the experience next year, hopefully using more of my own produce!

These were the little hampers I did for my sisters in law (we don't do grown-up presents, hence the small ones!

A bigger one for my Mum, Dad, Nan, Sister & Brother in law who all live in the same house (they got other non food hampers each too, in BHWT bags!)

Bramley apple lemon curd

Hedgerow jam or blackberry & apple jelly

Christmas chutney

Spicy crab apple jelly

Blackberry whisky

Cranberry & white chocolate cookies

Yes, that is the felt snowflake ribbon I was looking for - I tracked it down online to an Australian supplier. 8) I bought the red felt reindeer ribbon when I was visiting family in Canada.

Already looking forward to Christmas 2009 :)
