Cinnamon
I got some cash for Christmas & need a new set of kitchen scales - I fancy some elctronic ones, although I prefer the look of the more traditional ones. The electronic ones don't seem to have a bowl top to put flour & so forth in....... Can anyone recommend a good set to me,please?
tiggerlady
I always wanted some of the traditional balance ones with the weights and a pan but the storage would have been a problem.OH persuaded me to get some digital ones instead. They dont have a pan but you can use anything you have, just zero it and add away! they are very accurate and probably a lot quicker than the balance ones..add a bit..take away a bit etc.Hope this helps. Vivihen
I have used traditional scales for over thirty years but over time the smaller weights went missing. When the chickens arrived I bought some digital scales; they are so easy to use, I don't think that I would swap back now.
Cooks
I have digital ones now, just with a glass top though, not a bowl. They were only tesco home make but they are brilliant. You can place you own bowl on top set the weight back to zero and then add ingredients as you want, setting by zero as you go. I love them! Janty
I have these... http://www.nextag.co.uk/Salter-1200-CD-Style-531637952/uk/prices-html They are brilliant because they sit flat on the wall above the work surface looking just like a clock. When I need them I just take off the surround (which is easy) and use them as scales. They are easy to clean too.
Cinnamon
Brilliant, thanks. I have spent my Christmas pennies on a rather smart Salter set, plus a new shiny flour dredger which is something else I have been hankering after

Cinnamon
Its for shaking flour onto the work surface, for working with pastry. Only £5 & so much easier than doing it evenly by hand
