The Good Life continued....

I've put the singleton in with the other four. It is slightly bigger than them so is standing his ground. They are as bad as adult hens for pecking order problems :?

The Cream Legbar doesn't conform with any of the photos :? It is pale and blotchy but doesn't have a pale spot - it has a dark spot :?

Probably another dinner then :?

You can come and see ours Dan, perhaps you ought to stop here on the way to Quainton on the 8th. They'll be bigger by then though :?

Lesley - they look so lovely :D Your cream legbar chick looks a lot different from Herbert, I wonder if that has any significance. Your brooder set up is ingenious, and I love the mop - can we stop by after Stratford on the 7th and see the chicks?

.....probably because my Legbar chick is a Legbar :lol::lol: - and yours is a cross.

Depends on time on the 7th - we will be going to the Farmers' Market but then will have to work for the client in town and as it's end of VAT quarter, we will be a bit longer than usual ( ).

I don't know, but they appear to like hiding under it if anyone approaches - just as they would under a hens feathery petticoats :D

The idea came from the book we have on incubating and hatching. It has some photos of home-made brooders and one included the mop. For £1.75, it was worth trying.
