The Good Life continued....

Lesley the Company of Animals has some wonderful training aids you can try.

We have used 'Dog Stop' with Poppy and it has worked very effectively to interupt her bad behaviour

Thanks Emma - I'll take a look. When we meet up on Nov. 4th you'll be asking about chickens - I'll be asking about dog training :wink:

Thank goodness its not the other way around  i wouldnt stand a chance answering questions about chickens!:lol:

Errr they have feathers dont they? :?

If it was a double duvet cover Trish at least is was still good for a single bed!

Nope brand new single cover from Next. He has "taste" he left the old one hanging next to it.

Lesley that sounds just like a Lab, they are great dogs but they do seem to defy most accepted trainign methods. She'll get there I'm sure

Mog came back yesterday (he disappeared after his op - not impressed at all  ) - so now I have 4 cats bottoms to look at. I think the kitten is female - she is 5 months old - at what age can cats become pregnant? :?

Lesley my cat got pregnant when she was 8 months old, so don't wait too long before having her done.........Moppet didn't make a very good mum and left the kittens for me to hand rear 2 died and the 3 surviving kittens didn't fair very well they were all poorly and after being rehomed only one survived beyond a couple of years. Good luck with sexing the kittens hope you can catch them without getting bitten........... :o

:? - well, he/she is 5 and a half months now and very round. i haven't given the worming syrup I bought as it is quite precise about the weight of the cat and the amount of the food. These are still pretty feral so don't know weight etc. They are all so tiny as well which doesn't help.

We can stroke three of them now so they are becoming 'outdoor' cats instead of 'feral' - hopefully we will be able to get the little kitten into the cat box if we (Carl  ) wear garden gloves. Carl left the cat trap at the vets last time round

There is a chicken and a pig in this photo - just visible in the background...

We moved one lot of layers today as their run resembled the Somme :( One chicken went AWOL and disappeared. I laid a trail of corn in the hope she'd come back. Carl was covered from head to toe in 'mud' :? -so was Jazz

The hen reappeared when we had visitors - they decided that between them they could catch the hen  . I wish I'd videoed it  - reminiscent of Benny Hill sketches

Hi Lesley - didn't get a chance to log on over the weekend

Cats of either sex need neutering at 6 months - Biscuit is going for his nadger-ectomy on the 8th. I have known of female kittens getting up the duff before this age though

When are you planning to move to cows? We are around most of this weekend if you need any help.
