The Dogmother
Oh no! I bet you did some cussing! Glad to hear that the pork tastes good; you'll have time to savour it properly soon enough Have you got enough for the year now?
Mrs Frugal
Oh no!! What a mess!! The freezers will make lovely buffet tables with a cloth over them! Don't worry about that - I'm sure even your inlaws will excuse you that much .
Lesley
They don't excuse me anything - all the World problems are my fault They've got two choices.......... They were invited from 2.30 -5.00 - some of them can't come until later, so after all the upset they caused, they still can't be bothered to put themselves out ........ and they can still 'clear off' at 5pm

theherd123
Well what a hectic time you have been having! The up side to having freezers in your dining room is that when they do make it to their rightful home you will think your dining room is massive and appreicate all the space you have! Lesley
...... and we won't have to put the heating on until they've gone I have a confession to make - you know those little bits of plastic that the manufacturer puts along the lid of the freezer to prevent it being completely closed during transit? The ones you are supposed to take off so the lid closes and therefore you aren't trying to freeze a whole room?...................

Lesley
- it was only the one freezer - the other was OK. More haste - less speed, I think
Lesley
We've been without PC's since last night - mine is still not operational, I'm on Carl's. On Wednesday night, we set the cat trap and caught Willow. She went to the vet at 8am Thursday. We picked her up at 2am and put her in the spare chicken house, in the cat basket with the front removed. We reset the trap last night, not expecting to catch another but we caught Peach - another trip to the vet at 8 am this morning. Willow was fine and now Peach is in the chicken house. 2 down - 999 to go
Cate in NZ
Oh Lesley it sounds like a challenge catching them all. Good luck with it Can you persuade your vet to do a BOGOF
Lesley
It's not a problem Kate as we managed to acquire vouchers for neutering from a friend of my son who is quite high up in the RSPCA - he was very annoyed that we weren't helped in the first place. We have spoken to the vet and senior nurse and have an arrangement that we are able to take them in as we catch them. When I initially spoke to the receptionist, she said I had to make an appointment We will be setting the trap again tonight and hope to catch the male cat and have him seen to - I shall be chasing him with a couple of bricks soon if we don't

Lesley
The eggs/chicks in the incubator are cheeping I was hoping that one of the bantams would have gone broody by now but never mind. We are nearly all set up to cope with them ourselves this time. Last time, I had convinced myself that nothing was going to happen We are supposed to be out most of tomorrow - our 'one day holiday' but we'll have to see now. We are collecting a livestock trailer from Ross on Wye. We were going to stop at Hay on Wye first, mooch around the bookshops and have some lunch before heading to Ross. Also, the carpenter started today and will be here tomorrow - he was supposed to be here last week We may have chicks by the morning
