One of my Fenton Blues bobbed a definite curtsey today!! Am hoping for a blue/green egg.

 

Their ear lobes are all a definite green.

 

They were 8 weeks old when I got them on August 7th and their combs and wattles have been reddening and developing nicely over the last couple of weeks.....so watch this space! :D

I am jealous of course as neither of my new blue egg layers have come into lay yet Araucanas are notoriously slow though. Two others bought at the same time are now laying, one is a maran, so dark brown glossy eggs, the other is an Ancona, so little white eggs. One of my teenagers, Roxanne has just come back into lay too

Must be the time of year for coming back into lay/starting to lay - my skyline has just come back into lay after her winter break! Lovely blue eggs again! Will be great to see eggs from all your blueys Egluntine! I wonder what range of colours you will get?

One of my older girls has just started laying again too, so that's 3 in lay at the moment... not bad for pure breeds Roxanne has also just started to crouch for me and was in and out of the nest box earlier, so hopefully she's feeling the urge too.

Fingers crossed Eglutine, sounds like it shouldn't be long now. My corton blue isn't showing any signs of crouching yet, so I think I'll be waiting a while longer for my first blue egg.
