fowlbird
Tesco is an exception though but that's another story Oh? I'll be back later and will have time to listen if you want to share...

Guest
have a look at http://www.tescopoly.org/ plus they have refused to stop selling battery eggs or cheap chicken and they sell live turtles in their Asian stores for people to butcher at home, people who won't know how to kill an animal humanely. I just loathe everything they stand for.
Rhapsody
Just to update- I was looking at tuck box treats for my younger son yesterday and noticed Cadbury's Caramel Eggs next to the Creme Eggs. The caramel ones don't have egg white in them. I know people probably want to boycott Cadbury's for going back on their promise anyway, but I thought it worth mentioning. buffie
I'm sorry I missed this first time round. If you have an egg query please remember you can email me, jayne.cox@bhwt.org.uk and I will make sure it's looked into. If you email Jane, I am sorry it simply falls into a heaving inbox and would at some point be forwarded to me. Please be assured, as I've told Poet, we're looking into this situation and I will update you. If you're unsure of the egg content of anything we always encourage a polite query and vote with your shopping basket. Buffie x
Dodge
When I was in my 20's many moons ago, one Friday early evening after work, I went into my local sweetshop to buy a creme egg. They had a display of about 10 boxes of creme eggs with an open one at the top. I thought to myself if I were to buy a box of creme eggs as I love them so much, maybe I could get a discount and save some money and they will last for ages. The shop keeper did give me a discount and in those days they were about 15p each and I got a whole box of 48 for about £6 Now this may be some sort of a record but by Monday morning, I had eaten the lot For that weekend, I had just lived on creme eggs and nothing else. Now do I still love creme eggs all these years later? YOU BET
Egluntyne
I'm not sure what your point is here Dodge. They would taste a whole lot better to many folk if they knew that they weren't contributing to the battery system. Cadbury's are missing a massive marketing opportunity here. Dodge
I'm not sure what your point is here Dodge. Just recalling what creme eggs meant to me and trying to inject a bit of humour. Am I out of order for that?

Am I out of order for that? No you're not Dodge, but without an explanation your post didn't follow the flow of the thread; I think that's why Egluntine was asking. being random is fine, but it sometimes needs an explanation as we don't all always follow the same thought streams Goodness know, I have enough trouble keeping up with my own thoughts
Egluntyne
Yes, it did seem rather random. *shrugs* M&S eggs were divine last year, and all hen friendly, so I daresay they will give Cadbury's eggs a run for their money.

Guest
just recieved this e-mail roll on next year, I want a creme egg! Will have to go to M&S as I've got a proper craving for one now! If there's been no coverage though, I'll be dble checking next year -----Original Message-----From: consumer.relations1@csplc.com [mailto:consumer.relations1@csplc.com] Sent: 26 January 2009 16:12 Subject: Re: 1508574B Thanks for your recent enquiry regarding the very small amount of egg we use in our Crhme Eggs. Last year we said we were committed to changing the egg ingredient to one from a free range source and that this change was in line with our broader sustainability agenda. We have faced certain challenges to ensure consistency of product by switching supply but I am pleased to advise you that we are changing to free range eggs for all Crhme Eggs produced from later this year which means that eggs on sale for the 2010 season will be free range. They will also contain natural colours. Thank you once again for taking the time and trouble to contact us. Lesley
That is good news, as it will be across their whole range - and I hate creme eggs edit: I don't know where I got the 'whole range' bit because I've just re-read their email and it doesn't say that at all - but I'm sure it has been mentioned? buffie
Well I just posted the same info Poet (now deleted) and PM'd you. BHWT will follow up on this and it seems the news has only come out and we're all being given the same information at the same time. Guest
I LOVE creme eggs, like Dodge, but I still won't be buying them because their chocolate is not fairly-traded. Cadbury can afford to trade fairly and should lead the way.
