I then confessed today about my idea about keeping chickens and he said 'i know, because of all the tabs you have up' lol! Anyway long story short he says it's ok, but i'm still a nutter and that our neighbours prob won't be too happy about it. Well my first war is won. Now to prepare! tara Posted January 10, 2009 Share Posted January 10, 2009 Congratulation l started of with 3 l now have 6 normal hens and 2 ex battery hens which l paid £1.00 for each they have been the best £2.00 l have ever spent.Also l have 6 ducks 2 of them l have had from 1 day old and brought up myself.Its a brilliant hobby.If you was interested in battery hens if you go to the links on omlet you will find hen rescue.Good luck in what ever you decide and post some pics. I did the small change thing and with just what I had stashed in a jar and found in handbags and drawers I had £46 in 1p, 2p and 5p! I also had a clear out over christmas and put some staff on ebay and got my figure up to £204! There are pleanty of us on here with old fashioned wooden houses which you can get from the internet for a fraction of the price. It doesn't have to be expensive. Pleased for you. My husband mark was the same at first. now he comes on here just as much as me and has built me a fantastic hen house and run....have a look in chicken run inspirations as he posted pics.
