A & E visit with OS

Recommended Posts

We've been up A&E this evening, looks like OS has fractured his cheek bone :(

He got hit in the face with a garden swing at full pelt.

We have fracture clinic in just over a week!, oh the joy! But the worst part was when they told him he couldn't play in goal tomorrow for his football team!! He's mad as hell

He's off for a while but I am not telling him that yet.:wink:

 well you would think that wouldn't you, oh no!!! he wants to go and watch the team tomorrow.. I might send him with his dad though.. ;)

He's in a bit of pain and he doesn't look my son that side of his face because of his swelling, but he'll live.

He got knocked unconcious a few months back playing in goal, so I am thinking this is pretty tame..

He's a tough lad I'll give him that, he sat with a bag of peas wrapped in a tea towel on his face the whole time we were there as thats the only thing I had to hand  he wasn't impressed really, I must get some of those snap cold ice packs. ...

They wanted him to go to fracture clinic a week on monday.... I said errrrm I cant make that day!! So we are going on the tuesday!.. They have to wait for this huge swelling to go down.

(The Monday is cube delivery day  )

He's going to have a lovely bruise the size of a tennis ball and a black eye tomorrow..

It gives 'em a bit of street cred. When it stops hurting, he won't mind so much. :D

 well I did feel a bit guilty, but it wont hurt him any waiting a day more to see them..

he's currently soaking in the bath... with a warm flannnel across his face, that must feel better! :)

you can bet he will be milking all the sympathy he can get at school from the girls

Oh dear :( ES broke his leg just before Christmas, after breaking his nose 6 weeks earlier and YS breaking his colar bone just before the leg :? Fracture clinic isn't the most wonderful place to spend a few hours. All rugby accidents, I think I might encourage them to take up tiddly winks instead (wearing eye protection of course  )

They do gain kudos with their class mates though with a break  A black eye will be extra cool  ES chose a bright pink plaster cast, with lots of lovely messages from a rather large ammount of girls :lol:

Hope his face isn't too painful :(

Hi I'm glad I'm not the only one with an accident prone son. We have a season ticket to A&E and the local chemist knows us and doesnt even call our name anymore !! Antoni is 13 andhas had the same leg different bits Xrayed 4 times.Wish him well, frozen peas are as good as anything. Good luck in fracture clinic yes we've done that too, got chatted up by a thuggish individual who gave me his life history guns, knives etc and my son said " Mum its those tights you're wearing" I had black patterned tights on - not fishnet, no short skirt!! Yes I'm a 46 yr old floozy!! Hee Hee

Ooh ouch! I can imagine a fractured cheekbone would be very painful! I think if you'd gone in today, they wouldn't have been able to see much on the xrays as the swelling would have been too much. When I broke my ankle (oh yes, I too am a fracture clinic officionado  ) I had the initial xray and the back cast put on, but then had to wait three days to go back as the swelling was really bad. And then I had to wait another 2 days in hospital with ice packs and foot propped up on pillows before they would do the op!

But back to FC, the hours I'd sit there waiting to see the consultant, and in the end hoping it wasn't the senior chap, as that usually meant being re-admitted (probs with an infection )

I think you need to call one of your new girls Fraggle! I loved that programme.
