ChrisP
Hi all, I want to upgrade my phone. I have a Sony Ericsson W810i at the moment, but wish to replace it. I would ideally like a phone which has a good music player, lots of memory, text/call, and has good battery life. The phone will also act as an iPod/MP3, hence I'd like it to have a good musicplayer Anyone got any recommendations?? I liked the look of the SE C902 (or something like that!) but reviews say it has poor battery life and that it often switches itself on/off Help? Cinnamon
Nokia N95, if you can get one Brilliant phone, & the newer N96 is good too
bigmommasally
Have a look at the LG Renoir KC910. It has a 8megapixel camera and the MP3 is really good, DD says its better quality sound than her nano. DD got hers through Orange and it came with a 8GB memory card, not sure if that is standard or not. The battery has 3 hours talk time and 10 hours standby. PapaJuliet
Have a look at the LG Renoir KC910. I have an LG Viewty... which the Renoir is replacing so it might be a bit cheaper. I haven't tried the MP3 player or radio yet but I like the rest of the phone... it is a touch screen interface so only 3 "real" buttons. What I really logged on to say was... I bought my phone from Carphone Warehouse. I am on O2 with a SIM only deal which includes unlimited browsing so I didn't want to change it. The extremely helpful man in the Carphone Warehouse sold me the phone with an Orange SIM because the said that, on principle, they never lock their phones to a network unless absolutely forced to by the phone manufacturer. So despite the fact that they quote 3 prices for the phone (Orange, Vodafone and ??? possibly O2) I bought it at the cheapest price. And I even got £5 off a car charger by asking if he could do me any deal. PJ
Guest
Nokia N95, if you can get one Brilliant phone, & the newer N96 is good too I'd go with Cinnamon - I recenly upgraded the N95 to the N96. It does need charging every day and a half or so though. There is also the Nokia with the music bundle, not sure which it is but sounds like a great deal. Helly Welly
I have a Samsung SGH E250, a slim slider. I got it from Phones 4 you for £29.99 on the virgin network. It's a pay as you go. It's the best phone i've had, great battery life, looks cool and has a good camera. I haven't tried the music player yet as i have a good MP4 player but it looks pretty good. My N95 from carphone warehouse was the first phone I had ever had from them that was locked to a network (orange) they had also crippled some of the functions on the phone, annoying including the shortcut to hold down the hash key to put it on silent (WHY - did they do that??). I "flashed" the phone to sort out the firmware and it also unlocked the network bar, although its is often stated that this DOES NOT happen when you flash a phone. I bought my N96 from PHones 4 U on Vodaphone and that wasn't network locked. Interestingly when I bought it I got £100 cash for trading in the N95 - was the best deal I could find at the time and last month it got even better as for some reason they put another £100 into my bank account - No idea why as I wasn't going to phone and ask in case they'd made a mistake! There was no cashback deal on my contract.
Janty
I love my Blackberry Storm but that's just because I like gadgets. Hubby has the Sony Ericsson walkman phones and he likes those for music quality.

Clur
Love my Blackberry (not got the touch screen one though), as I have all my work email come through on it, our Enterprise instant messaging system and the Blackberry IM. The camera is good and so is the MP3 player. That said, if you aren't worried about email/QWERTY keypad, I'd go with the Nokia suggestion. My husband has the N95 and the video and MP3 player is very good. Only downside he finds is that the battery isn't great. Edited to say I've just checked and I have the BlackBerry Curve
The Spencers
I still use a prehistoric Nokia 3310 so can't really help I'm afraid. What happened to the days when a phone was just a phone?
jess
Hey no idea about phones but make sure you get one which has a normal headphone socket on it like you would get on a walk man and not some whacky plug socket only used by that phone, will make life much easier if you lose/break/want to change the headphones! Guest
I still use a prehistoric Nokia 3310 so can't really help I'm afraid. What happened to the days when a phone was just a phone? Oh what dark days they were. Convergent technology is marvellous. I can keep my diary, a calculator, all my music to hand PLUS I never miss a "Kodak moment", I can record a conversation, video something, check my email, read the Omlet forum, waste time on Facebook, post to my blog - ALL from one handy little device in my pocket. It IS becoming Bill Gates' "Wallet PC" The sooner we can use it to pay for things too the better.

Omletina Kyckling
I have a Nokia N95 and it's wonderful. The camera is great on it and the music player isn't bad either. I am on my second one (dropped my first) and it's much better than the first. The battery life is better and it doesn't freeze and crash like my previous one!
