Mooncup test run!!!

Recommended Posts

You know ladies use the instead cups to keep their husband's contribution to the baby-making process where it's most needed....avoids that whole lying on the back with bum in the air thing apparently. I didn't, because it sounded icky, but it worked for some people. And there's your strange, cervix-related fact for the day.

I've been using my mooncup for almost a year now, thanks to the advice found on here!

I love it so much.

Accordingly to a specialist who inspected my eggs recently I have excellent muscle control so it might be why I've never had a problem with leaks or it dropping down!

The bit I found most disconcerting is the bit when you 'deploy the shoot'!!

You get the parachute in, folded up, but then comes the bit when you have to let go and it pops open and the 'deploy the shoot'!!

Always makes me jump  as it sucks to the sides!!

Make sure that you break the seal by squeezing the cup (on one side only sometimes works best) so that it's not suctioned onto your cervix any more. I always bear down to help me get a grip on mine. I found the stalk completely pointless, and uncomfortable and chopped it all off, I just get a grip by squeezing the base of the cup.

Hello

Only had chance to use my Mooncup once since I bought it as I have been waiting 8 weeks to use it again !

Just my luck to be starting on the eratic due to age stage

More likely to be the case now, but 12 years ago my cycle went eratic and the doctor thought that I was too young to be going through the change, so he suggested that I have a blood test to make sure.

My prolactin levels were sky high so I was booked in for a brain scan

The scan showed I had a prolactinoma, and it was playing havoc with my hormones. Luckily I was able to have it treated by drugs and after 3 years I was discharged from the hospital out patients service, still with higher than average prolactin levels, but no tumour.

I still visit the docs for a yearly blood test to make sure all is OK, so if nothing shows up for another month I'll pop in for a chat, but I think that the hot flushes and night sweats are a bit of a give away though.

Regards,

Christine

crikey - that sounds serious! Lucky it was spotted.

I too thought I could put my mooncup into retirement, but had to get it out pronto last week! As you say, the night sweats and 'spontaneous combustion' effects are a giveaway - I'm thinking of starting a menopause thread so we can all share our stories! I so wish I'd discovered the mooncup earlier though, it has made life so much easier.

Hello again

I first heard about mooncups on this forum, but I was too bashful while I was working to chat about them with my colleagues ... being from an age when 'that sort of thing' was never discussed

Olly, I think that a thread about the menopause sounds a good idea, would it be posted in the Nesting Box area ?

Mood swings and memory loss are scare stories I remember hearing, so it will be interesting to hear true experiences from fellow omleteers.

No one mentioned when I had my prolactinoma diagnosed that due to the nature of the symptoms I'd go from 36B to 36D !

Now that I'm embarking on another hormonal change I'm imagining all sorts of bits and pieces going out of shape :anxious:

Regards

Christine
