Lesley
I'm sure Minky will be very happy with a retired person who has all the time Minky requires. No guilt trips Mel - you know you have done the right thing for him
Mel (& Paul)
How long can I decently wait until I ring up the charity to see how he is getting on she said we would get an update every 3 or 4 months - but I want to know now I did wonder at 5.30am, whilst walking Charlie and Blue, whether the Minkster was up yet
Guest
When we had to give Buster away, the Dogs Trust told us to phone after a week, to see how he was settled, however, when we phoned that evening to make sure he had settled for the night, with his new companion, they admitted that it was unusual for any owner to wait the whole week before phoning! Mel (& Paul)
Ok I phoned yesterday. He went to his new home with the retired chap on Sunday and the fosterer rang on Sunday evening to see how everything was - and it was brilliant But, on Monday she got a call to say that he had "gone for" the paper boy and the warden of the sheltered housing said it was the dog or him I dont know if he really went for him but I would imagine he certainly came up barking all snarling teeth and boggling eyes (although that's his normal look ) So he's back with the fosterer having a whale of a time being spoilt rotton (sleeping on the bed, being fed tinned food, getting whatever he wants) and she will keep him for a couple of weeks to let him settle down and to find a perfect partner for him. I really hope she keeps him as she is so lovely.

theherd123
Its a shame he didnt work out well with the old chap however if his luck is in the foster carer may have him! And after calling do you feel better Mel?
Mel (& Paul)
Yes, I think I do. Although it was a shame that the retired chap didnt work out, having met and spoken to the foster carer I think that she will do all she can to ensure he has the best home for him. Its still a little quiet without him - but I actually got a lay in this morning - (6.30am ) - first time in over a year

Mel (& Paul)
I REALLY want him to stay with the foster woman - she's LOVELY and he is getting exactly what he wants! I will try and give it a couple of weeks before I ring her again (although I might ring the groomer who knows her...........)
