JM
Well done - that took guts to do that, but the company obviously value you, and it must be the right thing for you as you feel good about it rather than thinking "Oh God what have I done"! No job is worth risking your physical or mental health - a more relaxed life is far better for you - and for everyone around you at home. Enjoy the reduced stress! dancing cloud
Well done you for making such a brave decision I'm not there yet, but I am learning there is more to life than work (cats/chooks/watching the garden grow ) and may give downsizing serious consideration once the mortgage is paid off, especially if our pension scheme is changed to be no longer related to final salary. No point working all hours to get a decent pension if it's just going to be a pittance anyway! Might as well have fun now

ChickenJo
thats very brave Tasha, I'm green with envy ... Ive got one of those "sought after high powered jobs" and would love to slow down, but the bills / mortgage keep getting in the way at the moment!!! I was off for 2 weeks at the start of the year after an op and it was lovely to spend time at home. Hubby liked the more chilled out me (and the home cooked meals) as well. Just need to work out a way of planning it into the future now. I see you're over in Astcote ... the outlaws have just moved from Pattishall so I know that area pretty well. Jo I love it round here -its brill A few days in and I am doing ok, I left at 19:20 yesterday and 18:30 today so am working it back towards 17:00 The mortgage is a worry as its £1000 a month and its down to me to pay all of that (OH earns a lot less) but I was getting to the stage where I was going to make myself ill if I carried on so something had to give Sitting at my desk and watching someone else in my old office I only feel relief I know its easier said than done though
Ardene5
Hi Everyone Congratulation on getting that job sorted as also your health will get better. Ian was able to retired early and that helped his health improved after he left but he had been 31 plus years in the job. Enjoy your new found freedom. Best regards Ian & Valerie
