Tessa the Duchess
Mine live permanently on the top of my head so I can put them on when I need them, otherwise back on my head. I used to wear them on a cord round my neck, but kept on nearly strangling myself when it caught on things. It will get easier, I promise. Tessa I did that and then the frame had distorted and the lens fell out, don't know where. I had to run off to get some so I could finish my work. Shall have to get a round the neck job. I keep several pairs Beckyboo. By the bed, in the kitchen, at work, at home. Mostly off the peg reading ones and the proper prescription specs in my handbag or on top of my head (no more). Olly
I did that and then the frame had distorted and the lens fell out, don't know where. sorry, this has just reminded me ... last year my sister-in-law found that her glasses were coming apart, so she popped into the opticians to see if they could tighten them up. She handed them over and the optician said 'er, where's the lens?' One of the lenses had fallen out and she hadn't even noticed! (Of course, we have not teased her mercilessly about this since then. Not us, no!)

I still wear mine on a cord and am always patting my head or chest, trying to find out where I've perched them.......fine if they are actually on the cord around my neck but I do get some odd looks from delivery men when I start patting my chest when I've left them somewhere! I lost a lens last year and eventually found it after a lot of searching of 5 chicken runs......it was in the rabbits long run, half hidden in mud I wear cheap reading glasses now for reading in bed as that is what distorted the frame. The Dogmother
I started wearing glasses at 40 too Becky. I wear them for close work, reading and screen work, so all day at work. I get free eye tests anyway and the company pay £45 towards new glasses/lenses. I went for 5 years with the same specs, but had to have the prescription upgraded at the end of last year. Old Speckled Hen
I just need reading glasses and get them from Primark ....lots of zazzy colours ... for £2.50 I have them all over the place. As I refuse to wear them round my neck occasionally I find four or five pairs in the same place. I bought a really expensive pair once: made of that metal that springs back into place I sat on them and broke them in the only place that wasn't memorable ... the hinge ...
