Yes!

I had one last summer and it was fantastic. It was easy to set up and I couldn't believe how many flies it caught. I think it's quite important to follow the guidelines regarding where you position it.

They do smell terrible when you walk past them though - you have to try and remember to hold your breath! Apart from that I'd recommend them. I will be getting another this year. :)

Had one last year. Attracted loads of flies but my garden was quite small so we couldn't get away from the smell of death. If you have a large ish garden and nice big tree out the way or something it'll work like a dream. In the end we got rid of it and sprinkled drops of citronella around to deter flies instead. Emptying the red trap is NOT a pleasant experience either. :vom::vom::silenced::vom::vom:

Smells like death! Lovely if you're a fly, not so nice for us though!

It's a sachet of protein powder they give you and you add warm water and leave in the sun for it to 'ripen' :vom: Vile but effective. I don't know if there are ones that don't smell so bad (But then i guess they wouldn't so attractive to the flies? ) The bottle design mentioned seems a cleaner way of disposing of it when full. We had to bag it up in 4 bags and a bin liner to stop the smell leaching through as we were worried about attracting cats and foxes to our rubbish bag. (You could empty it onto your compost if you are VERY carefull about covering it with soil to stop unwanted furries investigating it, but with the rats around our garden at the mo I'm going to stick to citronella oil, geraniums and lavender plants as a deterrent rather than attracting them to kill them.

Nasty things flies

There were several threads last year about the equally evil smelling Flitrap.

They work well.....but I maintain that they attract foxes.....as they smell of rotting carrion.

Two of my Flitraps were found in neighbours gardens.....with teethmarks in them. :?
