Mrs Frugal
Well apart from the 24 I've packed into boxes for prezzies, they've all gone. My lot wolfed them down in no time with a bit of help from me .
Jules.
I made mine too! I used 300g milk chocolate & 150g plain ( hubby bought it from Somerfield & it was cooking chocolate). He also got Elmlea cream substitute & I put orange juice in. The end result was FAB, I made 33 truffles, they went into ordinary fairy cake cases so they were pretty big. We all had chocolate all over us after we had done the rolling in cocoa bit I took a few to church to give out after our carol service tonight, eveyone loved them. Thanks very much for the lovely, tasty, easy-peasy recipe!

Lesley
I'll probably get my mix made up next week then keep it in the fridge until I need to use it.
Jules.
We made some today and put them in the freezer. We filled a Victoria sponge with some of the left-over cream & froze the rest of the cream. I can feel my jeans getting tight
Seagazer
YS and I made these on Tuesday and I have to say they are delicious. My OH is seriously impressed with them. I can't quite believe how much we spread the chocolate mix around the kitchen whilst we were trying to tidy up though. We really got mucky
Lesley
Glad you liked them - it is compulsory to get messy! I must rememeber to take mine out of the fridge and finish them off - I can hardly put it out in a bowl can I? Because I made the mix a while ago, I think I've done them
Seagazer
I suppose you could always just sticks some spoons in and let people dip in!
Lesley
Bump! As there was a mention of Christmas Hampers today it reminded me that I'm going to make my truffles soon - I have a birthday present to sort out so I will make the whole amount into truffles, take some for the present and then open freeze the others to keep for Christmas hampers. Once they are frozen I'll double wrap them in polybags and keep them in a container. All I'll need to do on Christmas Eve is roll them in cocoa. The Dogmother
Thanks for reminding me Lesley, must make room in the freezer for them!
chickencam
Room in the freezer, could you explain that too me?
The Dogmother
I know, I only have a tiny freezer but most of it is filled with dog meat and bones
chickencam
Most of mine is veg and fruit from the allotment, and bread. I must have a go at these truffles this year though they sound yummy, my SIL made some lovely ones last year.
Lesley
Sorry - we do have a lot of freezers.....but they're mostly full of meat and I do have to squeeze stuff in - it doesn't help that I forgot to sell one half a pig so we've ended up with one and a half to find room for
C&T
I've got some cherries soaking in Port, and wondering what to do with them - this could be an answer for some... Tempting!

Christian
2 batches cooling in the fridge here too. The first batch I overheated the chocolate and it went grainy Doing too many jobs at once and forgot Tastes nice out of the bowl though! One batch with brandy, the other with cointreau........ craftyhunnypie
I did some with Baileys ( a bit tasteless) & others with rum. They are very messy to form aren't they? Wonder if you could use a melon baller? Although I do like the rustic look. Mum & dad loved them last night. Mum tried one, whilst dad tried 4. Oink oink! I'd love to do some Amaretto ones & Kirsch. Mmmmmm Emma.x
Christian
I did a couple of batches with brandy and one with orange juice and zest. Need to bag them up now
