mictogirl
Hiya - can anyone tell me if there is any major difference between this lot? I've just been and bought a bale of Easibed (along with my ex-batt pellets, yay!) as that's what the shop had in. They can order other stuff if necessary, but I'm wondering if there is any point? I seem to remember reading that Aubiose has to be imported from France so some retailers aren't keen on it. Thanks, Laura.
Tweety
Hi, I have never used Easibed, but regularly use the other two. Both are excellent, but if given the choice I always get Hemcore simply because it is treated with citronella so makes eveything smell fresh. Aubiose is finer than Hemcore, and some prefer it for that reason. Both compost well.
feemcg
I used to use Hemcore as that's what my feed supplier had, but he had problems gettting it and now has Easibed. I much prefer the Easibed as it's less dusty......the Hemcore used to leave a thick layer of dust on top of the eglus (my runs are quite enclosed though, you may not get this if more exposed). Purplemaniacs
I use Easibed as I could not get the other two but I have now heard of a local supplier for Auboise so I may try that next. Chrissie
Vicky40
Hi I've only used Easibed but am very pleased with how it absorbs any smells. A large bale seems to last ages and its not as expensive as Aubiose which is an added bonus .
Cooks
I haven't found easibed locally but when I do I will give it a try as Aubiose is creeping up in price at £9.20 here and Hemcore is £9.80. I HAVE to find another stockist... tsk tsk.
Lydia
I've used Easibed and it's much the same as Aubiose in the absorbency department. I tried Hemcore once but prefer either of the others because of the dust too. I also regularly use Jo-packs (sp?) which is very similar to Aubiose except cheaper. BarbaraJ
Aubiose here as thats what was rcommended on here £8.
madchickenlady
I use easibed, as it's the onlyone I can get hold of and it's cheaper than the others. Works really well and the chooks love scratching around in it.
Griffin
I've tried both Easibed and Hemcore recently and I prefer the Easibed. It doesn't seem to travel as far around the garden and house as Hemcore
Cooks
I;ve just had a ring around and been told of a product called Bliss anyone heard of that one???
Guest
HI much prefer Hemcore..citronella is fly repellent but pretty sure Aubiose is too(found Aubiose a bit finer) Hemcore did have supply problems a while back..I have a strange feeling Aubiouse is a smaller bale(good if u have a bad back..but need to check that) The Hemcore bags are a lot more robust so if want the reuse the bags they are nice and strong(I am sure the aubiouse bags use to split easier) I will have to check the Hemcore price as didnt look at my bill the other week..£9 + seems steep cookie monster. For anyone living near bishops stortford you can go and collect it direct..for the life me useless at remembering the price!! Used all of these on horses but at end of day they are better than straw and shavings and rot down quicker compared to Straw etc. Most horse shavings in bales are dust extracted, So spoilt for choice
Guest
No never heard of Bliss but our local agricultural merchant sells everything so will ahve a look next time indie
Cooks
yes I agree it's steep which is why I have been finding an alternative stockist, turns out the main warehouse stockist for my area is only about 15 mins up the road so I might have to go and stock up, he also has different products that are basically the same.. one called Bliss.. and one called Softchip cheaper in price too! Emma get your bum down here next week we'll take a travel over there and stock up! LOL

quickcluck
I've used easibed and miscanthus (elephant grass) both are great and while the miscanthus is cheap it flies about and they kick it out of the run big time, so spend my afternoons scooping it up and chucking it back in
Redwing
I;ve just had a ring around and been told of a product called Bliss anyone heard of that one??? I looked at this last week, it looked a bit more chunky than Aubiose, longer and thicker strands of what-ever-it-is! I was mighty tempted but the bales looked slightly looser packed so I didnt think I would get as much for my money I have just got some Bedmax shavings and they are fantastic they were £6.80 a bale
urbanchick
I started with aubiose, tried easibed as they ran out, but went back to aubiose. Easibed is chunkier and smells quite strongly of citronella type fragrance (which I don't like). Aubiose is fine and soft, without such a smell. Cooks
thanks for that Tasha, I have been told it is much cheaper than the Aubiose and Hemcore although it is very similar so I am tempted to drive over to the wholesalers to have a look next week, my stockist is taking the mick I think. Tuesday or Wednesday! i love chicken stuff shopping!!! lol I have only tried Aubiose and can get it for £7.99 down the A1 at Sandy . Am considering trying Hemcore for the citronella and saw Bliss in another countrystore but it looked a bit strawy to me (I may be wrong as it was a really quick looks as I was busting for a wee! Lol, did I just share too much! )

Ain't Nobody Here
..£9 + seems steep cookie monster. You think that's bad? Hemcore is over £11 up here . I'v changed to Easibed which is under £7.
Chickvic
Hemcore - never tried Aubiose. I love the smell of hemcore too. Although at the minute I'm using Nedz Bedz because I can't get anything else. Don't like it as much. ANH £11 don't think I've ever paid that much!
