Guest
it would be better to have a clerical "D" nickname to go with the other two... how about Dogmatic Dean?? Drinking Dave, Dodgy Deutsch & Dogmatic Dean Removals at your service! Champagne thrown in (the back of the van!) Phil
Cinnamon
Is Dean your middle name, then?
Richard T
He's just getting ideas above his station. The only suggestions I can come up with for clerical nicknames in the D theme are Dogmatic Dog-collarist and Dogmatic Disciple. And that's me done for the day. Thanks for the good wishes all. Richard T
Hi Phil, or the Divine Dogmatist for short. I'm online because I'm trying to think of something appropriate to say about the sad loss of Ola from Strictly Come Dancing. Although tomorrow is the Big Day, and we're surrounded by cardboard boxes, because we haven't actually sold this house yet; just accepted an offer, we're taking the week to move. Most of the stuff is going tomorrow but we haven't arranged an interweb connection yet so the PC's not moving till Tuesday. Probably. Anyway, by this time tomorrow we should be snuggling up in front of the wood burning stove, whether it's burning wood or not, with a glass of something and a warm satisified glow. Now I must go to prepare what might very wll be the last dinner I ever prepare in this house. Richard T

Richard T
We are in and loving it And we didn't take long to find the teapot, corkscrew and wine glasses . Thanks for all the good wishes. I hope everyone's well. I haven't been able to thank you before now, or keep up with what you've been getting up to, because I took the week off last week and we haven't got the interweb at home yet. I'll give a more detailed report later, but I thought I'd let you know that the move went pretty well and we really like it in our new home. I think the chickens will like it too but they're a bit noisy and stroppy at the moment because we've been too busy to be able to let them out, as the garden isn't chicken-proofed yet. Bye for now. Richard T
While unpacking some more boxes last night we found some more wine! But we decided to resist temptation. Besides, it was white wine and wouldn't have gone with the chocolate we were eating. It's still lovely in our new cottage and it seems ages ago since we first moved in. I didn't tell you about how, on the first day, after picking up the keys, emptying the hired van, going to Ikea for a new sofa and a new bed, taking them home, putting the bed together, I then went in the van down to the village to get pie and chips for the two of us. And on the way back the clutch on the van went. Luckily the AA (a very nice man) was there within the hour and he towed me back to the cottage in the pouring rain. Then, in the middle of the night, the bed collapsed. It was a faulty mid-beam from a batch of faulty mid-beams, according to the man in Ikea. We spent the rest of the night and the rest of the week sleeping on the mattress on the floor until Ikea got a new batch of mid beams in. (Since then the bed's been fine.) We're slowly getting organised but we've still got boxes to unpack and stuff to move from the old house. And the computer isn't connected up to the interweb yet. I'm hoping we'll have broadband from Monday. The hens seem OK, although, apart from one brief eggscursion, they've been confined to the run since we moved them there. Mavis hasn't laid for ages, because she was moulting, but last night she was settling down in the nesting box, which is usually where Rita sleeps. So maybe we'll see an egg from her soon. My favourite bit since moving in is to get home from work, whip out me chopper and, before too long, get HennyPenny all warm and glowy. She loves wood burning stoves.
