Nicola O
Just realised that today is the ex-batts SECOND anniversary . I can't believe that it's been two years since I collected three bald, battered, rather shocked and stunned girlies, and watched them blossom to full health and learn to be normal chooks. Sadly, Mavis died last November but Mildred and Myrtle are still going strong - no longer laying but who cares, they deserve their rest. Mildred is getting a bit slower recently and having lots of naps during the day and tend to goes of to bed earlier than the others but hopefully there's still life in the old girl yet. But, TWO YEARS, way to go girlies Nicola. Edited April 30, 2009 by Guest
Lydia
Well done to them and to you. It's such a good feeling to think that they've been freerangers longer than they were batts. My first 2 ex-batts will have their 2nd anniversary soon at the end of May.

mostin
That news is music to my ears. I pick up my first ex-batt ladies tomorrow. I hope they will be with me as long as your girls have been .
Abbey Road Girl
Eggs are indeed lovely--nutritious and cruelty free food. But chickens, like your girlies, Nichola, are splendid for themselves alone! Even though mine are a bit troublesome and tetchy, I love them all! It's wonderful to appreciate them for the charming and sentient beings that they are.
